Thank you so much for adopting instead of shopping and spreading the word. My mom volunteers 3 days a week at an animal shelter and tells me weekly about all the poor dogs they put to sleep and nothing can be done to save them. It’s a real problem.

They really do! My rescue is my shadow. He won't ever go any further than 15 feet away from me. He also HAS to sleep next to me. Preferably he needs to be touching me while we sleep. Can't believe we've been together for 9 years. Damn ❤

All our pets have been rescues / adopted. Our dogs are from my mom’s friend. Her dog have a litter. We got one and the runt. Our cats were brought by an alley cat. She brought her litter to our yard. Still have two little ones to give away

I work for a dog rescue ... thank you so much Steve for saving a life! 😘 For all new dog parents ... let them explore their new home by themselves and don't hover over them too much the first couple of days. Don't try to hold them or force them to do anything. Dogs can develop separation anxiety, so let them come to you when they are ready for affection. Much like kids, you don't want a clingy dog who you cannot leave for 4-5 hours alone at home (didn't mean leave you kids alone, lol). #AdoptDontShop

aww - make sure you don't switch up his food without mixing the two together first so he can get used to the change just like that lady said!! when we first got our puppy i switched his food at one point and i didn't realize i had to do it slowly.. he ended up having such a bad upset tummy that we had to bring him to the vet for medicine.
