The Gretsch Honey Dripper, like the early National's they emulate, have brass bodies, not steel.

@@paulmerojunkpileguitars I just found out recently myself when taking an interest in this Gretsch model. I too had always assumed they were stamped steel, and perhaps some others are. I think the cones are spun aluminum, light so they can vibrate.
