Steel Coils Train With DPU Crosses Railroad Bridge Over CSX! Racing Train To RR Crossing To Film!

Railroad Crossing With CSX & Norfolk Southern Railroad. House With Tracks In Front & Behind. Steel Coils Train With DPU Booking Over Bridge. 3 Locomotive Train In Hurry & Racing Train To The Crossing. These trains are in Walton, Kentucky on the CSX Short Line and the Norfolk Southern Rat Hole line. 6 Trains are in this video that was filmed in north central Kentucky on a cold but sunny day.
The first train is a CSX auto racks train running southbound from Cincinnati Queensgate Yard toward Louisville, Kentucky. I was at a railroad crossing that has a CSX track and an NS track. The CSX train was the only train that I got here and then I drove a mile north to the old stage coach house in Walton. A southbound Norfolk Southern train passed by on its way from Gest Street Yard in Cincinnati to Chattanooga , Tennessee. Check out the view of the house while the train is passing!
Next we see a train near the old house running southbound following the previous train. This is a daily steel coils train with a DPU on the rear and it is crossing a bridge that goes over the CSX mainline.
I returned to the main part of town and filmed a Norfolk Southern northbound train running across Church Street behind the police station. Right after I filmed it I heard a CSX train approaching on the track in front of the police station. I ran over there as fast as I could up a small hill and just barely got to the crossing in time to see the locomotives.
The 6th and last train in this video is back at Church Street. I caught another northbound Norfolk Southern train booking up the short grade. That was awesome! What was the hurry anyway?
Which train is your favourite and do you like Walton? I think its a great town to watch trains in. Let me know if I should return and spend another day here catching trains from two of Americas biggest railroad companies. These are both Class One railroads. We have 7 Class One railroads in America.

I love them too. I've been a fan of EMD power since around 1960 when I was first exposed to them, the EMD "chant" or (SD70) "growl" says power to me much better than the "chug-chug" or burbling of the GEs.

So glad you didn't talk over the defect detector after red over red. I must google Abner Gaines House 🏠 ( Stagecoach stop ), those folk under the bridge was the same in Auckland, NZ when I use to live there. One such individual I heard had a university education. I moved away from Auckland near the railroad 16 years ago to the Waikato in the south operating forklifts & loaders in a large timber yard. We probably will see a lot of those steel coil cars in Pt. Pleasant soon when Nucor Corp. completes the $3 billion plant in Apple Grove. That's the biggest investment in WV history. There's a lotta dirt flying. The site is 1,300 acres.

However, I did not find any comments about a daily Norfolk Southern steel coil train that would travel on the Norfolk Southern's Rat Hole Line. My curiosity is getting the better of me and I would like to know where this steel coil train originates and terminates. Hopefully, one of your subscribers can give us the train symbol for the steel coil train that we see moving past us in your videos of Norfolk Southern trains through Crescent Springs, Kentucky along the Norfolk Southern's Rat Hole Line.

I film so many lines that I can't keep them straight. The only one I know is the 123 which has the high and wide loads of Caterpillar equipment up front. Hey Brian Randy here (Reb) I should have done this 4 months ago but I guess it goes into our typical "woulda coulda shoulda file,huh? Look,when I saw your bouncing bridge video in Hamilton Ohio,I got a bad feeling. The short hairs on my neck stood up and ice water flowed into my veins. But I did nothing....not a damn thing. In lieu of East Palestine and the derailmant of that NS freight,I decided to alert NS to this bouncing bridge. I called their department in Atlanta responsible for track problems. I told them all about you and your excellent videos. I was not real impressed with who I had on the line at NS in Atlanta if you know what I mean. Considering what this will cost NS to clean up, one would have thought more concern was due and she would have asked me more questions. Anyway I offered to send NS your video to have their engineers or maintenance people to look at. She asked me for the crossroads of where this bouncing bridge was. All I had was diamond crosstracks in Hamilton. Heres where you come in. Can you tell me what roads,milemarkers the "bouncing bridge" is located? She did say she would send someone out to look at it. Look Bri,Im a train fiend just like you....ever since I was 5. Love trains.....lived in Chicago in the 60s,when every roadname tracked thru Chicago. If we ever meet or talk I'll tell you a funny story about how I got into model trains. Anyway,Im not looking for any money,hoodie NS hat or anything. Im just a concerned American who doesnt want to see derailments or environmental hazards NOR Norfolk Southern to get hurt financially ....that goes for CSX UP CP CN or BNSF. Not sure where I saw the video but there was a video of some guys with a large pickup trying to steal one of those rolls of steel off of a semi truck. They decided to back up to the end of the semi trailer and cut the tie downs with an axe.. Roll of steel started to move... Hit the end of the semi trailer and kept on going.. Completely flattened the would be thieves pickup truck..

The last Norfolk Southern railroad was the fastest train above the previous trains. I have a feeling that the wheels on the locomotives are exactly the same wheels used by freight cars. If I am right, then fine. If not, fine. I would not be too old to learn something else. Happy Railroading!
