Steel Division II ▶ Artillery/mortar advance tutorial

My artillery doctrine :
Always use Return Fire.
#1- By the time they shoot, the enemy might not be there anymore = waste of ammo. Which overtime, is capital for your survival if the game gets to last a long time.
#2- You want your arty/mortar shooting at the same time, not one after the other so that the enemy has less time watching where the trails come from.
#3- Units get suppressed more if the bombs drop at the same time close to each other ( speculations, I don't know that for a fact, but it looks like it)
#4- By choosing selected area of artillery, you can planned your assault better and have better fire support for your defenses.
#5- You also want to overwhelm the enemy by constantly shooting smoke to cover your approach, and constantly shooting HE to drain your enemy's attention.

Can you queue a move order to arty if they are on return fire? BTW, you should use Tab to cycle through your mortars.

If he's already on return fire with an initial order, then yes you can queue other orders and he'll stay on return fire. But if not, youll have to order him to fire, then queue, then put on return fire. And yeah Iv had 4 people telling me I could cycle them :P. Its proof that no matter how much experience we have, there's always something to learn in this game ! Thanks !

This is a Mortar/artillery tutorial. Not a game. AT guns have absolutely no purpose in the video. You were supposed to concentrate on the artillery/Mortar aspect as per the title and description and what I said in the video.

Pulling my hair out with the SU-76m. When I pick it and no matter how I try I cannot get it to move from its original position - clicking for movement results in it changing from direct to indirect fire, even shortcuts. They should have had I / D or a command in the bottom right only to set up direct or indirect fire for all the arty pieces

Oh hey it's most likely a bug if I understand you correctly. But if I recall, press T to select firing target for HE (can use it for any weapons really, even infantry for blind shooting) .

probably late, but if you select a group of similar units. You can hit tab, to select individual units within the group to give various orders. Without having to manually select every time.

Guy, Im a division 3 player in the tournament. Im the exact definition of a good 1v1 player and unless my opponent is in the top 50 players, thet generally can't beat me, but more importantly, this is an Artillery/Mortar tutorial. Not an actual battle.

@@divineoverhand5307 There is 5 Divisions in the official tournament of the game. Division 5 are for new players . Division 4 are for experienced players. Division 3 are for good players, Division 2 are for excellent players and Division 1 are for the Pro Players.
