Steel Division II ▶ Tutorial : Queen's Gamble opening.

This is an advance opening move using Vanguard income. Its a very dangerous opening that will dictate the rest of the entire game, hence the word "Gamble" in the name. But if applied correctly, can be extremely powerful, hence the "Queen".
Have lots of stuff in A phase, as vetted as possible especially for tanks. You dont need much in B and C, the goal is to have an answer to everything the enemy can throw at you in phase A. Once you crush his initial assault, keep pushing in the hole. The goal is to take as much flags as possible. Once phase B arrives, expand your territory by attacking the flanks. These dont have to be successful, they are there to keep the enemy busy from your initial attack. All you need to do now is wait for the counter to go down to win.
This mean in phase B and C you want good, cheap and fast defensive unis. Your income is going to be low so its important that your units are as cheap as you can.
Hopefully you will learn to appreciate my Queeb's gamble opening as much as I do. Its a very difficult one to try, its scary to even think about going into battle with that opening, knowing you got barely nothing in B and C in terms of income and units, but its very rewarding when you succeed.

Why you didnt take MP44 Reit Jagers ?

Not that good because it has 3 different types of main firearms. Best to specialize on having infantry that specialize at CQB and other infantry that have lots of rifles and MGs.

How does this opening fare in the maverick/balanced meta in 2022? Can I push as aggressively in A using maverick or am I better off with a different opening option as a novice player?

Good Question. I haven't played the new meta yet. But my guess would be that its still valid. As I mentioned in the video, you can deviate to better suit the battle so a little adaptation to the new meta would make this work. The only way to know is to try it out though ;)
