Who left this bowl of onions here? :.( Seriously, as a Kong fan, this was an incredibly emotional short film. Good job Tom, O'Brian and Harryhausen would be proud. Surprised the Academy doesn't consider giving this a Best Animated Short Nomination.

It's a sad love story, he still had a soft spot in his heart for the girl he meet 80 years ago. Now her love only remains on instant monochromed pollaroids of the past, and he himself is just a shadow of his former glory as the 8th marvel of the world. He is the only one left since the original adventurers of the Skull Island perished long time ago, and the only thing he had to remember his beloved girlfriend and his own past as THE beast is that small and forgotten spot of the film history. But he's not alone, every passion, every love ends in the same situation, being remembered by the lonely remains of what did it special and unique. :/

Couldn't agree more! Check out Peter Montgomery's new sci-fi/fantasy indie film; "Dark Earth". All practical and stop motion creature effects. Much in the style of Harryhausen and 70's adventure films. Some clips on KZbin.

I have to comment a second time, I absolutly LOVE this, Tom you made me cry and its only been 19hrs since I got back from the Ray Harryhausen Art exhibit at the Tate Britain! I'll be using this during my armature lessons to teach students the importance and history of a good stop-motion armature, once again thankyou so much for posting this.

I loved this great short. Sweet, nostalgic and yet strangely inspiring, a way to show that stop motion animation is still a thing. And the commentary at the beginning was also great. Thank you for sharing this work.

Hi there Tom, Massive fan since the days of Alien 3. I'm studying animation at UWE (bristol,uk) and just handed in a video essay Kong vs skull island in which I look at the original 1933 Kong and compare it to the recent Skull island. Whilst doing research I came across your videos on Kong of which I referenced in the essay. I'ld love to send you a link. It isn't live on youtube - its just for the uni and it's shorter than I would like - but that was the box my tutors put me in. Whats the best way of getting it to you? should I just drop a link here? anyway. Keep the fires burning.

Especially good finger articulation. As it was meant to be about the puppet, itself, though, I think it would have worked better without the roaring and growling sounds.
