When I was in theater a group did this scene. I heard them rehearse and perform this scene so much that I actually memorized the lines. Heck I don't even memorize lines of movies that I've watched over and over again. I think it's because this script just resonates in your brain so well.

My mama donated a kidney to me when I was 8 years old; it failed 10 years later. I’ve been on dialysis for 15 years now with no chance of another transplant and there’s no place left in my body to put another access for dialysis. I’m dying.

I hope you and your loved ones well.My son is in the icu waiting for a bone marrow transplant, he's 12 and has xlp2 a rare genetic disorder, that causes primary immunodeficiency. A BMT is his only hope for survival and a guarded one at that. I hope that when your time comes you go to a far better place full of light and love.Stay Strong and Brave.

Roxanne Stine He has a 10/10 match ready...The only thing we can do is pray and hope. His conditioning starts the end of this month.But thank you for the offer. The best thing you or any healthy person can do is sign up on be the match...the bone marrow registry. There are many children and adults that desperately still waiting for a donor...and will die with out one...I'm glad my lil buddy has a chance even if it's a small one..it's something at least☺♥️

I looked into it a bit, this is still, I think, one of the better ideas for donors in terms of matching, though there's levels of it and even a parent isn't going to be as good a match as, I believe, a sibling, but honestly there's always factors for rejection anyway, 100% match is probably near impossible even with modern medicine getting more understanding about transplants

I’m glad that Shelby’s didn’t have to wait long especially since her Mom is able to give her one of her kidneys implant especially when she’s been on dialysis, driving nails up her arms . Jennydebrier

It doesn't bother me. I always got a kick out of people who accidentally touched mine. They'd jump. All my guy friends growing up liked to touch it. It vibrates because the arterial blood is mixing with the venous blood. I've been doing dialysis off and on since I was 7 yrs old. I'm 41 now and have done it straight for over 10 yrs. I've had 4 transplants, starting at age 8. I don't know why my body didn't like them. But I'm okay on dialysis. I live a very full life.

I have a fistula. My second one. All dialysis accesses require surgery. My fistula was created by attaching the artery to the vein to make the vein larger. A graft is made with artificial tubing when veins are not in good shape. And grafts eventually erode.
