Haha awesome! I basically worked through this material to teach MYSELF how to do it, and then realized it might help others. Glad to know someone else is getting something out of it! Enjoy, and thanks for the support!

CotePercussion I love the intro you played before starting the lesson. I try to play back and pick the notes but I’m still confused, I hate to bother you but can you slow it down it sound like you’re playing arpeggios back and forth, but it sound really good thanks🎼🎶.

Pretty sure it's CMaj7 (C, E, G, B) followed by Cmin7 (C, Eb, G, Bb) ascending and descending two full octaves. The only notes that change are E (to Eb) and B (to Bb). You have to adjust sticking. Major is RLRL but as you make the switch from Maj to min, you end up on a double left on the low C to Eb. Hope this helps!

@@jerrieharris8699 I don't have a method/technique book, but I have plenty of collections of backing tracks with charts for steel pannists to play. They're available at TropicalShores.net, and the most recent one is here: www.tropicalshores.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=PAB%2Dsplashofsunlight

What can I use this information for?

Music theory takes into account previous tendencies of music - the knowledge of which applies to subsequent music creations. Understanding the structure of chords allows a musician to perform, compose, and read music. Many simple lead sheets, or charts, are accompanied by chords. Utilizing chord tones will enrich both the performer and listener experience. Understanding the makeup of chords during a solo section will enhance the players' decision-making capabilities. Furthermore, a player may rely on this theoretical understanding when accompanying other musicians. This video may be most beneficial to intermediate or advanced players.

CotePercussion.. thank you for the video. There's not enough steelpan tuition on KZbin so this is great. I'd like to see a video of a song played with arpeggio's instead of chords. Can you demonstrate this?
