The most suprising thing is how JF responded to the chargers first TD. Also how he responded to his int. Thats huge.
@mrnst7
@mrnst7 Ай бұрын
That was soo huge and no one is talking about It. The chargers were ready to take the game over our offense looked skunked and fields made It a game with that drive. Those are the losses we took last year where eventually the defense just gave in and accepted the loss because we couldnt come back from a one possession deficit

I'm not surprised at all if you know you know he just needed a real team to help him out he not all there yet but you see the growth since he been in Pittsburgh this short time unlike the Bears the Steelers actually are teaching him and doing the things that he is good at not what they want him to run all the plays are designed in the best interest of JF

I literally had tears in my eyes watching this game. And not because we played winning football but because I was absolutely impressed with Justin Fields. You literally see his progression. I love to see positive and talk positive about people, and we are witnessing the growth of Fields, and I'm absolutely proud. I know Justin now has an interception, but he didn't throw that it. In my eyes, he's still mistake free and is absolutely taking care of the ball. And as the season goes on, he's only going to get better and more confident. We grew up today, Steelers nation! I'm absolutely proud to say Justin Fields is QB1. Debate over! Oh, by the way, I actually been feeling like Jaylen Warren should be the starter, and Najee should be back up and put in different packages. Patterson looked good. I also said this at the beginning of the season that Nick herbig should start over Alex. I just feel his athleticism and speed makes him a better threat over Highsmith.

I would sign Justin to a 4 year contract and Russ to a 2 year back up position I doubt he gets a good deal after a year sitting and his age so for him to get paid and play for pit and mentoring Justin would be great

Comparing Russ (a future HOF’er who hasn’t played a snap) to Kenny Pickett (who was the worst starting QB for two straight seasons) is ridiculous. Completely different scenarios.

After three games? Come on, man. 🤨 You think Tomlin shares your enthusiasm? This was the first game where Fields actually showed quality QB play. Perhaps they should give him a franchise contract since everyone is so confident now. Lock him in for the next half decade. 🤦🏻 Have some patience. We have no idea if he can maintain this for an entire season. He’s literally never done it before. He’s had three years of attempts too.

@JahWontPayTheBill
@JahWontPayTheBill Ай бұрын
@@terrywbreedlove He absolutely did not play well those first two games. He looked flustered and overwhelmed at times. He didn’t even break 300 yards in the air for both games combined. He had a decent passer rating because he rarely threw anything except check downs that added up to around 130 yards per game. He threw 1 TD. He took 4 sacks. There’s nothing else to note. The only positive is that he wasn’t turning the ball over. That’s mainly because he was throwing those check downs though. You may think that’s playing well but it’s definitely not if you want this team to actually contend. He needs to double, if not triple these numbers. He did better yesterday. Significantly better. Hopefully he continues to do that every week.

Tomlin said that Wilson was in pole position in training camp. Well, the starter checker flag has already dropped, Fields is leading the pack in the driver seat, and Wilson is still at the starting gate trying to get his engine started.

Fields finished last season 5-2 to end the season with the Bears and i wanted to keep him and trade that #1 pick for a massive haul as a bears fan, so yeah, I'm not surprised at what he is doing. Justin had some great games last season and really his whole career in Chicago he was fun to watch. I think Caleb will be special so i can't be too mad and I'm happy Justin found a starting spot to show his skills.

Will be good to see us play some playoff caliber competition and see how we do..defense is even better than last year and we’ve got a qb continuing the trend of end year getting our playmakers the ball…fields being disciplined and not going full fields like that 3 yard bullet to into a sea of players is a good sign…now after 1 game of little leash let’s see how we look…the supporting cast is the best he’s ever had and maybe will so let’s go for a Lombardi ✌🏽🖤💛

First half reminds me of the good old Canada days: Two runs for nothing and a long 3rd down. Playcalling and line terrible! But the second half was way better! Let Field throw before the 3rd and using the speed of Calvin Austin. But we still need a WR2. Defense...on fire! Watt is such a terror and with Herbig we found another good edge rusher. I hope Mike Dumblin realized that Fields belongs under center... He`s really solid and makes no mistakes - one turnover in 3 games is really good. The pick wasn`t on him, Patterson doesn`t attack the ball at the highest point.
