I am also really hoping this works out but he is coming off of a major injury (generally better 2nd year from injury) and has not played a snap in the NFL. Big hopes, but honestly, a stretch to assume he is ready this year.

Wiggins is likely part of the due diligence process on the 1st rd. OT still seems their preference. But with other teams behind them like Dallas. GB, Philly, and TB having OL needs, that could trade up? Its wise to vet multiple positions with positional value.

Just saying, Christian Haynes and Cooper Beebe both snapped at the senior bowl. If they end up in the 3rd round and the centers are off the board, taking one of them and moving them to center wouldn't shock me. They did it with Green (less than ideal results, but they're different players)

I really don’t understand the logic of not using a first round pick on a center. If you really want smash mouth football. Your going to need a center that delivers that. It’s such a glaring hole just patch it up with a first rounder and you don’t have to worry about it anymore

Imo move up in the second for Frazier. At the end of the day center is a low value position from a full team perspective. We definitely need one but we may be able to get more valuable positions like T, CB, and WR in addition to Frazier

It’ll be BPA with OT or CB; one of the top guys at those positions will fall to 20. In the unlikely scenario that all of them are gone, WR is the most probable next priority.

Chris, Tackle is likely the first round pick, there has not been a quality draft class with this amount of talent in years. I think the Steelers can wait on center until the second or third round because centers typically drop. Personally I would love for the Steelers to grab Max Melton I. The third and a WR with the second third and Mason Smith with the fourth

DeJean or Arnold are the most likely to drop to 20 that fit what the Steelers do. Wiggins is a great cover guy, but lacks physicality and a consistent desire to “stick his face in the fan”, and that will cost you in the AFC North.

We are not taking JPJ in Rd 1. He is not a 1st round center. He’s not Pouncey. You do not draft for need. You’ll be reaching like with Pickett. Best player available that also fits your scheme and needs is the only way to go. We need WR, OT, CB, C, DT. No centers worth Rd1 pick. DTs worth Rd 1 will be taken b4 us. That leaves WR, CB and OT. Best available, we will take.

I agree that the O-line is paramount, and Cole was an epic fail on his better days. Problem w/ a 1st round center is that this draft has some really good ones (most or all of which likely won't fall to the Steelers) and what's reachable ain't likely future Hall of Famers. That means what they might get is not a good value for their highest pick, hence the discourse on possibly trading down to get another pick to help fill other holes. Once you get past the top center(s) that we can't get, I guess they think they can gamble that a decent one will fall to later rounds. Basically it's a crap shoot I suppose, since there are way too many variables that they have zero control over. Personally, I'd love to see them build "The Great Wall of Georgia". 😊
