@@PatriotWatchUSA Lol, wrong! The 2024 Steelers offense will be every bit as good as the 2023 Bears offense and they haven't even played a down yet. Top to bottom the Steelers receivers are better than what the Bears had in 2023. Only legit WR they had was DJ Moore. The rookie Scott clearly wasn't ready for primetime. Claypool was a clown show. Mooney was a no show. And that's why both play for different teams. The Bears had a slightly better run game but that's only because their stats were padded by Fields rushing production. But that's no longer the case, now it's the Steelers who will benefit.

Kenny Pickett wanted out because he threw a total of 13 TD passes in two seasons and he realized that wasn't good enough. He bailed because he saw the writing on the wall. Smart guy. The Steelers signed Russ to be a bridge to the future. And they acquired him for not much more than a six pack and a bag of peanuts, which means no other NFL team deemed him worthy of a better offer! The obvious prize and most important piece of the puzzle was the acquisition of Fields, who the Steelers clearly view as the future! Steelers GM Omar Khan confirmed as much when he stated in an interview that they loved Fields coming out of the draft, which in translation means the Steelers have been waiting three years for a chance to acquire Fields. And now they have their guy, mission accomplished! It really is that simple folks!

These guys are trying to revise history! The Steelers knew they wanted Russ the whole time. JF was never a priority for the Steelers but fell into their lap. They were prepared to have Russ and KP as their QBs. If KP doesn’t implode, Fields is still in Chicago, or playing for the Raiders, Jets, or LAR. Furthermore, the trade of Fields only looked good to the Bears AFTER Russ was signed. The Bears wanted JF on the bench with his next team, not starting as a QB1, especially kits early in the season. The LAST thing they need is for Caleb to struggle early and to hear Bears fans blasting them for trading Fields. Think like GMs for a minute! Secondly, the Steelers knew other teams were interested in Russ; that’s why they didn’t allow Russ to remain available and snatched him BEFORE free agency began. Realize that the Steelers told Russ’s agent to get special permission to negotiate with them early. The Steelers heard chatter from Minnesota, Atlanta, and even Tampa, that Russ was on the menu. That’s why Baker signed so quickly with Tampa. Russ on the open market was going to be a nightmare for a lot of ABs, including potentially Dak Prescott, who might have wound up getting shipped out. Think about it: Russ has 4-5 years left, max. Trey Lance sitting behind Russ makes more sense than Trey Lance sitting behind Dak because Dak is younger and more expensive. The Cowboys were on Russ’s short list of teams a few years ago. Ciara is from Dallas. The Cowboys would love to have had Russ for a year at $1.2M on a prove-it contract. And Russ is much more accomplished. Russ and Trey Lance are similar in terms of physical ability, and Jerry Jones isn’t getting younger. He wants at least one more SB. There were 6-7 teams that would’ve taken a hard look at bringing in Russ, and the Steelers knew that. Fields to the Steelers wasn’t a priority or even a realistic thought for the Bears or the Steelers until (1) Russ signed there and (2) KP got angry and didn’t want to compete with Russ. If either of those events doesn’t happen, there’s no way Fields is in Pittsburgh.

@@BesTiCaN1000: Russ is still 35 and entering his age 35 season! He is still a superior QB to JF, snd realistically could be playing for the next 4-5 years. As for athleticism, you’re talking about a guy in Russ who in 2023 not only had superior passing stats to JF but was ostensibly a 400-yard rusher (340 yards in 14-15 games). Russ is easily the choice. These guys are trying to revise history! The Steelers knew they wanted Russ the whole time. JF was never a priority for the Steelers but fell into their lap. Look what everyone is missing also is if KP had been a man about things then it would be RW starting this year with KP and JF competing for stater next year.RW is one and done. So next year we have a blank canvas now with no ties to any QB with the hopes of JF to show enough to be resigned at least as a backup. With the new reality of needing to draft a QB, take a free agent QB in the off season, trade for a future long term QB starter or all of the above or part of the above in no certain amount up to leaving some part or parts out completely or partially. So, it as plain as the nose on our faces what they have to do.

KP has no where near the upside Fields has. Not even close. Pickett threw a mere 13 TD passes in two seasons, that's not worthy of a starting job. Fields threw 16 TDs last season alone and he missed four games due to injury! Had KP stayed, he would have been buried 3rd on the depth chart where he'd stay for a long time. He was smart to bail!!!!

@@PatriotWatchUSA Justin fields isn’t a bust if you watch QB film at all you would know that, he was never given the time to develop he was drafted by a lame duck head coach, team got completely strippped down in year two and even tho they were tanking if it wasn’t for Justin fields they wouldn’t have been in most of the games within a score in 2022 and 2023 he finally got the chance to let his arm grow and guess what? It was growing he had back to back MVP type games against the broncos and commanders(that’s with half the team getting injured during the game btw) and the interception at the end of the broncos game kmet was suppose to run 10 yards and come back and he ran 14, I can defend Justin all day dude, it’s a hill that I’ll die, he started laying balls throw his accuracy greatly improved he has poise and determination on the falcons game last year he throw 3 TDs throws but Tyler Scott decided to drop one that was a absolute time, then he jumped out of the in zone when he had no reason to jump, Watch the film and come back bro because you ain’t got no clue how good he can be if he becomes consistent and has a offensive staff that develops him properly instead of wasting his years
