And then there's the time Russ passed for 400 yards, and when they played the same team a couple of weeks later, Smith was back to his run, run, pass, kick game plan. Justin Fields is a great athlete and a horrible passer. There’s no scenario that I can see Fields winning enough games to get to the playoffs as a full season starter and actually win games in the playoffs. I’ll never understand why people were calling for Fields to be the starter when he’s a terrible passer. No quarterback is going to win games year after year rushing the ball and only passing for 130 yards every game.

With how steelers fans are they would probably run fields out of town eventually with all them good stats (if everything worked out) and no rings to back it up. And just my opinion but even in Lamar's first full season he was a much better passer than fields, and he hasn't had a pro bowl caliber receiver until recently with zay flowers. Meanwhile fields, who yes, hasn't always had the best targets around him, hasn't thrown for more than 20 touchdowns in a single season, while lamar threw for 30 plus and I believe was 10 or more rushing touchdowns in his first year as the starter, but correct me if I'm wrong I don't remember his rushing stats for that year. Fields has shown that he is just as athletic or more athletic than lamar, but hasn't shown the same arm talent, if Pittsburgh resigns him as the starter (I believe we should stick with russ, but let's just agree to disagree if you think differently) then this is a do or die year in my opinion for fields. He needs to show that he can be a top 10 or top 15 quarterback in the league, personally I would like to see 25 or more passing touchdowns and average over 200 yards a game. But personally I like russ better with better peices around him. We have seen what he looks like when firing on all cylinders and until the 5 game loosing streak to end the season he was average nearly 230 yards passing while fields only averaged about 180-190 total yards even with his rushing threat. We gave Kenny Pickett 3 years to figure out that he sucks, why not give russ a second year

Milroe entices me because he can throw deep passes very well. But his intermediate passing is a work in progress. He makes mistakes, but has a lot of athleticism and ability. Nothings perfect but his running ability makes it a viable option.

Who still can’t throw with accuracy or touchdown the field, struggles to read defenses, and has no football awareness so he slides at 9 yards instead of 10 for the first down.
