Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler on the possibility of the Steelers trading Najee Harris before the 2024 NFL trade deadline:
“Considering the Steelers declined Harris' fifth-year option, a move sooner rather than later would present Pittsburgh with some remanence of a return, even if it's a late-round or compensatory selection. NYG already roster three former Steelers in Allen Robinson, Gunner Olszewski and Miles Boykin, a nod towards (Joe) Schoen's likeness of Steelers skill players. A move would benefit both sides, allowing Jaylen Warren to take over PIT's backfield and Harris to get a fresh start, in a different conference, alongside (Devin) Singletary.”

“I got a few. I mean, it's cheap, it's really cheap. He's a burst player. He'll give you an amazing quarter, or a great half, but usually it ends up losing for the Bears, and it's a lot of the time his fault. There was this amazing civil war between the Fields apologists and the people that were actually saying it's his fault. The answer was both. The Bears didn't support him, and he did make a lot of poor plays in big moments. You'll get something, but I don't think you'll get it consistently.”

I agree and think Warren is overrated on this channel. He's a great player but I don't think he's an every down 400 touches per year guy. He's great at what he does and in situational plays but don't see him in obvious running plays. Doesn't make him a bad player at all but Harris is a workhorse.

Najee trade: D, you have better chance at getting a higher compensatory pick than what’s being proposed in that trade if he leaves in FA All the cons listed for Justin Fields are pretty important qualities to play the position well. I will be curious to see him play some preseason snaps and execute the offense against a real defense. Cam situation, extend him a year with voidable years, assure that he doesn’t play elsewhere and keep him in our locker room a little longer. His worth isn’t just on the field, in my opinion. Van Jefferson: Maybe, more familiarity in Arthur Smith’s offense might help and he does have quality experience in the league.

The best back-up quarterback in the nfl is not Justin Fields sorry to say. He’s a great athlete but mentally he needs to build up or train himself to develop his processing I.Q.. Michael Penix Jr. has all those qualities and more. You just didn’t see it the College Championship game because he was playing injured.
