I like how the rookies know the importance of having a bond with each other and how they are starting to build that.

I don’t want to be too dismissive about the yards before contact, but those last games comprised of AZ and Seattle-the two worst rushing defenses. GB was 28th and the played Cincy (26th) twice and also the 24th ranked Colts. Titans and Ravens (resting starters) were average at 13/14 with Cleveland ahead of them at 11th. Cleveland shut Najee down but Jaylen ripped off a 74 yarder but the Steelers only gave him 9 rushes. The only stout rushing defense they played was NE and they killed our running game albeit with Mitch as the QB “threat”. Also, Najee got healthier as the year went along and Jaylen got an uptick in usage-ZERO double digit rushing attempts in the first 7 games but got 5 in the last 9 (and three of those were 9 carries). Canada only coaching two of those had an impact as well. In short, I think that stat is ok to use if adding all needed context but isn’t very strong as a standalone-which was acknowledged to an extent. I think Jones being in the lineup, shedding 🇨🇦’s dead weight and a commitment to a dual back system while playing mostly poor rushing defenses was the formula for that stat.

Don’t think it matters what side Troy plays, it’s all about how well Broderick plays on the left. He seems to get beat on the inside rush and is a little too slow with his feet. But playing on the right he crushes at run blocking and if the defender gets behind him at least the quarterback can see it coming.

CC with all these new players do you think Coach T should bring some of past vets to training camp to work with guys especially oline guys?? I certainly think it would really help

Broderick jones is a stud! Dude will be all pro. Zach Frazier a stud! Troy a stud. James Daniel a beast and Issac a underrated monster Pray healthy for this oline

It doesn’t matter if Penix was a left handed QB.. When it comes to Troy.. Left is left and Right is right.. and there’s gonna be a learning curve for Troy learning the right side.

Shut up it does make a difference. The blind side right hand QB it’s the left side left and QB it’s the right .

@@JMo-km2lv No 💩!! But, playing the left side of the line is much different than playing the right side…
@mike26875 ай бұрын
@@Thisguy5 I get what you’re trying to say but the delivery was poor: Left is left and right is right and there’s going to be a learning curve for Troy learning the right side…. but it will be lesser of a curve because Penix was a left handed QB. Fixed it for you-same point about how it’s not an automatic switch due to a physical adjustments without saying that Penix being a lefty means “nothing” because that’s not true-it does mean something based on assignments and mental processes.

Combine a new look, punch you in the mouth Oline, a huge upgrade at Offensive Coordinator, more play for Warren, and better QB play, this offense should take a big step forward and help keep the Defense fresh not only late in games but throughout the season

And broderick jones never officially beat out dan moore for LT so this line can still look any way rn
@s.c2375 ай бұрын
He didn’t really get to compete for it. They kept putting BJ at RT. And wouldn’t bench Dan Moore at all.
@mike26875 ай бұрын
What does “officially” mean? In the eyes of the staff that started Green at C for 15 weeks and played Dotson on the wrong side? Jones was the best tackle on the team and he didn’t get a start until DM got injured and didn’t become a starter until Chuks said something that got him benched and released.

They are building a great OL, but letting Najee Harris, their power back, to play out his contract and move on? I do t think so. Stay tuned on that
@mike26875 ай бұрын
They’re building a great OL because they tried to fix their issues without an emphasis on the trenches and failed…. Najee was part of that setback from a drafting standpoint. If the OL comes together as expected, RB should become a plug and play position and they’ll spend their money elsewhere. I think they should extend Warren now-behind this line, and a Najee injury, he could pop and the price would go up dramatically. Get him on a cheap 2-3 yr deal and find another rookie next year to pair with him keeping the dual back system going at price (RB3 too) less than Najee’s 5th option by itself.
@marcusbarugh9195 ай бұрын
They will extend Najee before his contract expires I'd bet money on it.

If the run game took off after putting Jones on right side and Troy played left in college, why switch them now?
@alex.p21945 ай бұрын
Cuz jones was supposed to be left. That’s what he was drafted for. The problems on the oline last year made him go to right cuz he’s that good. He will dominate at his natural position
@JohnDoe-js8on5 ай бұрын
Jones is a natural LT, and Fautanu protected Penix front side in college so he understands the way rushers come in from the front.

Russell Wilson is also left handed.

True, but Russ isnt the long term option at QB maybe a year or two. We are gonna have this core line for at least 5 years and hopefully for much longer and most people are right handed.

Russell Wilson is a righty. This is exactly how internet misinformation spreads. Someone, who doesn't know something about a subject says it anyway and someone else, who also doesn't know agrees with them. You're online, for christ's sake, look it up you lazy basterds.
