I agree, that defense brings back memories. Probably is, if the Bills got it together at any time during the game we would have lost. Our Offense has got to do way better than that. Or we are one and done in the playoffs, as usual as of lately. Way to many bad passes, dropped balls, and plan old stupid mistakes on Offense. I console myself that it is Opening day, so we still have time to get it together.

It's nice having Haden and Bush back in the lineup since they missed last years game. Also Ingram is the perfect copy of Dupree and that's a good thing. Getting the lousy backup depth out of the lineup (Justin Layne, Robert Spillane, and Cassius Marsh) and replacing them with great young players like James Pierre, Joe Schobert, and Alex Highsmith instantly made the Steelers D regain their Elite form. Now there's no weakness in that Defense at all.

PIT adding Melvin Ingram has been so key to the defense getting constant pressure even when TJ isn’t in. Highsmith looks to be also coming into his own as well, he was giving Dawkins some problems which isn’t an easy thing to do. Having Bush & Scho in the middle brings back the speed & coverage skills they lacked last year at the position. Pierre looked solid & Sutton played tight coverage all game. Edmunds even looked good too and we already know Minkah is gonna show out regardless.

This was a weird game. It felt like the Bills SHOULD win, but the Steelers kept making them punt slightly outside field goal range, stopped them on two fourth down attempts, made less penalties, didn't give them turnovers, made all their kicks, had a huge special teams play, and slowly emerged through good fundamental football. I am a Bills fan and I think we are overrated slightly. We can probably win the division but we are too one dimensional to be a Super Bowl contender as many pegged us to be. The simple fact is that we have been figured out, since last years playoffs the offense has been mediocre at best. The offensive line is a major issue and it’s a major issue with establishing the run. I also question if Dawkins is healthy after battling covid and being hospitalized . They also do not have another weapon on offense who terrifies you outside of Stefon Diggs, and no tight end that we were promised. We simply do not have enough to be a SB winner.
