As bad as yesterday went, this could be exactly what we needed to learn how to compete with and beat the best teams in this league. As you said, if we can get back to the lab, learn why we lost, and make the necessary changes, which I trust Tomlin to do.... I don't see how we won't come out of this game better than we were going into it even considering the injuries we are dealing with. Eagles are one of many elite teams we will need to be ready to compete against if we are to make a serious run. Seems to me that yesterday was a much needed wake up call. Better this L happened now than later. Congrats on the success Big B! Keep up the great content.

The Eagles were really focused on stopping Russ. They knew he was 6-0 in his career and had never beaten Russ in their home stadium. That’s proverbially “owning” a team, and it was clearly on their whiteboard all week. The Eagles’ game plan was to establish their aggressiveness early and play keep-away with the ball in the second half.
@DarkBrown-gn9bs3 сағат бұрын
The Eagles didn't care anything about grandpa Wilson. I'm going to let you in on a secret, but promise not to tell; on defense, the Birds don't gameplan any individual. They know if they play their game, it doesn't matter who the RB, WR, or QB is. Now, unlike the Steelers, who believed the media hype about the the passing game, they concentrated on stopping Barkley. OOOOPS!

I think this was collective loss. The offense couldn’t move the ball effectively, the secondary struggled, and our time of possession sucked. I think the special teams and d-line did good, for the most part, but a lot of missed tackles too. The fumble was an issue, but we had bigger issues overall.

Very fair report card. We need to start passing more on first downs, however, especially against the better defenses. I thought the play calling was too vanilla to start the game. Run on first and second, throw on third and long is a recipe for disaster. Until the Steelers are successful passing the ball on first down, the problems will continue against the better teams. They are daring the Steelers to throw on first down. I know it's tough without Pickens, but they had to find a way. The only way to overcome a talent disadvantage is to outsmart your oppenent. The Steelers failed to do that yesterday.

The O-Line stunk it up bad. The pocket was collapsing way to quick. Not opening up any holes. Almost every year there seems to be problems with the O-Line. Can't seem to fix it. Russ wasn't at his best, but it plays with your head when you have defenders in youir face constantly. The D has been having their share of problems. If it wasn't for all the takeaways. They might be an average defense at best. It's like they rely on turnovers way too much. Coaching is another issue in itself, playcalling, ect...

Bad things happen when you play scared. The play selection tells opponents that the Steelers are scared to death to throw the ball on early downs. Time to see what we got. I say throw the ball 75% run 25%. Like cramming for a test "playoffs" we have to know what we got. Up tempo passing game coming off the bus. I say PASS to RUN. Not Run, Run, Pass, Punt. Clean that up. The Dynasty Dream stays alive.

Omar Khan really screwed up on the WR top, and Davante Adams fckd himself by not coming to Pittsburgh! That trade needed to happen! QBs have to rely on more people than anyone to be successful. Russ gets a D, but the RBs get the same grade when Russ was basically the leading rusher too!?????? Game-ending fumble was it. He had 20 min in time of possession. The offense was the issue in the 1st quarter, but they rallied back in the 2nd and won by halftime. Score should have been tied in the 3rd quarter. Possessions matter, too many mistakes on both sides. Of course Russ only threw 14 completions (20 min vs 40 min Team TOP). I’d give the QB play a C, considering all circumstances, for at least taking care of the ball, no turnovers, vs a Nickel defense clearly designed to stop Russ’ intermediate and deep passes. He also scored the only TD. Let’s be fair.
