Steeler fans are annoying. For example a top 10 QB in most people’s eyes preseason is Justin Herbert. He has 274 passing yards and 298 total offense yrds with a 67.4 completion rate. Chargers fans are pumped their team is 2-0. Meanwhile Fields who has had less attempts has 273 passing yrds & 357 total offense yrds. With a 69.8 completion rating & Steeler fans are frustrated at 2-0. Fields is playing the safe offensive game that the coaches want him to play. Newsflash Mike Tomlin is not Andy Reid. He plays a safe game, most NFL QB get 40 passes a game. Fields has that many attempts in 2 games. Steelers fans need to wakeup. They are not and have never been an offensive juggernaut under Mike Tomlin. They missed on getting a second WR, they are very limited skill wise on offense. It’s impressive that they are 2-0.

Oh please, Herbert and Fields aren’t even in the same stratosphere. My problem with Fields is how inefficient he looks at times when his no 1 option isn’t there. Frequent dump off passes that look little different from the past 2 years.

Conveniently leaving out “TDs” in this equation. It’s 3-1 in two games between those two QBs. You can throw for 90 yards in a game, but if you complete at a high rate AND also score a ton of touchdowns (less yards, more TDs), you won’t get complaints. Points matter on offense, literally, that’s the definition of offense. Herbert also hasn’t been great since 2021, that’s the quiet part out loud. Russ was (much) better last season.

To each his own. Beautiful is in the eye of the beholder. Fields had a 2nd touchdown pass to Pickens overturned on a bogus penalty, an offensive pass interference that didn't happen, and Fields had a beautiful 45 yard completion to Pickens while on the run, scrambling to his right, that was wiped out on a penalty. I love watching Fields, and the Steelers are 2-0.

I think many of us in Steeler Nation have too high of expectations for this offence. We still NEED a WR2, and hoping Roman Wilson will be that this year is unrealistic. O-linemen take years to develop individually before they can really be a unit. Fields will take time to unlearn the Chicago way, although he is progressing (especially on ball security). I'm glad these last two ugly games were wins, for sure, but there is no substitute for in-stadium experience.

The 2023 Steelers would have won this game 12-6 with no penalties, with no attempted or completed throws over the middle of the field and no completed deep shots down the field. With that being said, the 2024 Steelers should have scored 3 TDS the potential is there, just clean up the penalties and establish continuity on the offensive line by identifying the starters. JF2 threw the deep ball accurately again so the threat is there and its lethal. We didn't have that in 2023. Smith's play calling is better with better play designs and unpredictability. Another took a long pass to Pickens to the Broncos 6 yard line away with another penalty. Without those and a couple others the Steelers would have been in the 20's in pts or more. Their defense is brutal. No joke. I think they get better as the season moves along. Too many offense of penalties hurt them in the game. 3 penalties from Broderick Jones in a row. I don't see anyone talking about the Ravens. They are 0-2 and KC isn't clicking on all cylinders either with Mahomes throwing interceptions.

Fields played well and still has room to grow for sure. Missed some easy stuff. He still needs to know where to go a little more quickly decision wise. There’s honestly no overcoming momentum killing penalties all game long. Especially when they happen every other play. Fields has a lot to work on but you’d be lying if you said you don’t see improvement. Especially bc he was supposed to be sitting for development. They’re also spreading targets around and in all honesty - they can survive without this vaunted name brand W2. I don’t see why everyone is so black and white about him. Without the penalties this game is easily 28 or 31-3

I guess the biggest frustration is the “the league isn’t calling holding on pass rushers to protect QBs” but also call “ticky-tack” holding penalties on the Steelers. If it’s not an anti-Steelers bias, it certainly is a player specific bias (ie don’t call holds on TJ, or Jones always holds call him out). Regardless, these phantom call/no calls have made a very young, but progressing offense’s growth stunted. Tomlin needs to call this crap out, he’s paid enough to “use his influence publicly.”

A little perspective. Fields has yet to lead the Steelers to as many points as MASON RUDOLF'S LOWEST SCORING GAME last year. Russel Wilson was so bad last year that he produced 29 TOUCHDOWNS IN 14 GAMES. You people get too enamored with the occasional WOW play. You are all like the clueless boyfriend with the super hot girl friend who keeps cheating on him. You refuse to see the obvious.

I watched KC VS CINCINNATI. THOSE ARE FIELD GENERALS. THEY ATTACK DEFENSES WITH INTENT TO SCORE TOUCH DOWNS. I know Fields is not on those QB'S level, but these we be the teams we have to compete with.

Steelers offense is doing better than two time MVP Lamar Jackson's offense with Derrick Henry. Steelers aren't 0-2 like the Ravens and the Bengals. Just saying. And they are held at a higher regard. So for two game into the season with a new team, new offense and a brutal defense I think they played a solid game. I don't know why people think a team has to rack up a bunch of pts. If the Steelers defense was average then there may be some concern of course but I think they'll fix the penalty issues and get better as the season moves along. Defenses win championships and super bowls as well. Bucs super bowl win in 2003. Defense. They had no offense except for Mike Alstott lol. Patriots vs Falcons SB comeback with Patriots down 28 pts. to zip Falcson celebrating early. Patriots defense is the reason they came back and won. Kept them at 28pts and gave Brady the opportunities to comeback. Steelers had no offense last year. Still 5-1 in division with a loss to Browns which they should have won but Kenny Pickett was horrible and uncertain where to throw the ball. And Mitch Trubisky. Need a say more. They still made it into the playoffs. As long as the Steelers stay healthy this year they'll make it to the playoffs without any help from other teams.

We ain't winning the SB this year. And Fields won't get us there this year. This is a team building for next year. Solidify the O line, get another WR. The Chargers are scoring plus they give up few points, fewer than the Steelers so far. That script cannot beat a team that both scores more and gives up fewer points. Hate to rain on a 2-0 teams parade, but I think we're 2-1 this time next week, with the only question being how bad a beatdown we have to take.

We have a below average offense and a very good defense. We will beat most below average teams and lose to most above average teams with that combination. I feel like the Chargers are average, but we will probably have to score 20 points to win even with the D playing well.

The offenae will find its way when the O line stops with the penalties . No discipline , also when Justin fields is paying attention when he is taking a snap. That comes down to communication. I want Russ to return and the Steelers need to trade for Darius Slayton.
