At least they know BEFORE the playoffs how far short of the mark they are. They were competitive deep into the 3rd quarter all three games until self destructing. This is fixable and they should count it a blessing they got a glimpse of their fate in the playoffs if they just maintain the status quo.

The Steelers gave up 5 sacks and had two turnovers. Chiefs had none on both accounts. Chiefs had a 13 point lead and never lost it the rest of the game. That game was not competitive deep into the third.

Thanks Dale and Matt for putting this terrible stretch into its proper perspective. You men provide the best Steelers coverage and analysis out there. I'm so sick of the "don't make excuses" mantra. Yes, there is a big difference between "excuses" and "reasons". I hope Mr. Rooney has made it clear to the NFL that the Steelers received an absolutely unacceptable schedule. 3 in 11 days, Eagles and Ravens on the road AFTER 4 straight division games, then Chiefs at home on Christmas!?! Meanwhile, as Matt has pointed out, the Ravens have something like 16 more rest days than their competition, the most probably since the merger! How can that not be seen as a massive advantage in the division race? Plus, Steelers hit the 3 in 11 in terrible injury shape: GP, 3 of 4 of starting DBs, + Ogunjobi. Many prefer to see it as "making excuses", but I for one appreciate analysis that goes beyond the simple outcomes of games.

Ross Tucker: “Mike Tomlin went for it on 4th & 20. But then he punted it on 4th & 2 down 19 with 6 minutes left which means you're giving up on the game." Again, that's a former player saying that, not the fans. Players know. Tomlin quit.

Saw a post pointing out the score was 1-score game at the end of 3rd for the Chiefs game. I haven’t watch a ton of the last 3 but it seems similar trend. I’m sure the tenor of the game doesn’t feel that way but surely if the team is in it going into the 4th these games have been close at those snapshots in each of the last 3. Whats not been/been happening the 4th Q’s? btw I’ll echo the same comments made about the show…appreciate the show and all the work that goes into it. I dont tune into the other teams reporting/media but as a biased viewer think we may have some of the best

They have made the big mistakes or haven't capitalized on the chances they've gotten. The Wilson interception following the Minkah pick against the Ravens, for example. The Harris fumble in Philly. The holding call on Washington that negated a touchdown, followed by a pick against the Chiefs. The quick whistle on the pass to Pickens at the end of the first half. The defender tackling Pickens was knocked off of him by the second defender. He would have scored if the whistle hadn't blown. If they get either or one of those or both, they take a lead into the half on KC. It sounds cliche, but there really are a handful of plays in every game that decide the outcome. In these cases, the plays have gone against the Steelers. The end result is the end result. But we'll never know how things play out if those don't happen.

Steelers have improved this year but these past three games they showed us who they are. Probably 11-6. That was my pick in the beginning of the season. We have some new players in key roles. But we still have same issues we have seen Coach Tomlin teams have. We still in it to win it but i dont really believe this team is going all the way this season. The Chiefs are definitely looking like they're on the road to repeat a championship.🏆 Bills or Ravens could do it too. In the NFC, I think the Vikings are the team to beat, or Lions, but the AFC looks better this year. Steelers should try to see what they got with the games they got left. Some of these players are regressing and dont belong in a Steelers uniform. It seems our standards are lower, character maybe isn't as much a factor in selection as it once was.

Ben played in a 26-7 loss to the Colts and a 38-31 loss to the Bengals -- two playoff teams. He missed the first game of the losing streak, a 16-13 loss to the Ravens. But the vaunted defense gave up 26 and 38 to a pair of playoff teams in losses. But they made defensive adjustments and it got better.

The point was to bring in a physical, pass-catching back with fresh legs to lighten the box. If he gets even 2 yards, they probably go on 4th with 13 personnel. He got a yard and a half due to some well played dives by the defenders that were faster than our pulling linemen. The design was good but the execution was sub-par. That look probably has audibles into screens or has a similar look to an inverse. That play is designed for a 2nd and mid or 3rd and short with 4th down on the table. Sometimes you have to applaud the other side for executing quicker and more decisively. If the Steelers flex that out to a screen, it probably works, we have a very high pass-on-third rate and the chiefs still chanced run defense on that play.

The Steelers make untimely mistakes at critical moments, but most importantly, they are lopsidedly outcoached against the better teams in the league. The Steelers have star power and are rarely successful when It mattered most. The Steelers now have a quarterback and still look like last years team. Wilson is fighting for his life and trying to make plays every game. He wasn't supposed to be Superman. He was supposed to be the veteran player, that got the ball to the playmakers. The coaching has forced him to play Superman. The protection is terrible. The offense is predictable and/or disjointed, and the receivers are rarely schemed open. There is only so much Wilson can do to cover up for Arthur Smith. There is tape on Wilson and the Steelers now. And the recent results are a reflection of everything I've just stated. Lastly, Tomlin is a great coach, and defensive guru, yet opposing offenses pick the team apart. DeVonte Smith wide open repeatedly. Travis Kelce UNCOVERED repeatedly. Exhausting and embarrassing. And he's still under contact until 2027. Smgdh.

I'm not sure why you didn't see the can't do's in Fields, how come you didn't see he can't read defenses, he can't audible at the line, he can throw with touch and accuracy

@ have you watched a Bengals game? They should’ve lost to the cooper rush led cowboys and were terrible against the titans. They have still not beat one team with a winning record

@@P-V-H That's exactly why we're talking this L. We are historically bad against bad teams under Mike T. This has L written all over it XD. You think we can beat a bad team we are the bad team.
