"SHOCKING?" Tomlin was known as a defensive Coach the day he was hired. He has absolutely no clue on how to run an offense. He has no clue how the Offensive line runs blocking assignments for pass plays and running plays. He has no clue what routes are available to his wideouts, slot receivers, and tight ends. He has no clue on how his running backs run lanes are. Etc.

Jalen hurts has said on multiple podcasts that his impression on draft night was that we were taking him. So much so, that when Philly did call him, he thought that it was the Pittsburgh area code. Also, we saw Baker for years in the division and we knew his downfall was due to injury (and being in Cleveland), how on earth do you not sign him instead of Mitch-6 Trubisky? Never going to be critical of the Lamar non-pick, that was Ben’s problem for being thin skinned about competition.

I like the mock and I agree with the beef on the D line. Here's my mock that makes the most sense to win in 2025. 1) Tyleik Williams DT or Kenneth Mason DT. 2) Kaleb Johnson RB, CB, or WR 3) Interior O-lineman OG 4) RB or missing offensive player for development. Don't forget that Troy returns next season and he is slated to be RT, Broderick is being moved to LT once Dan Moore walks. Zach should be better next season while we will see what Mason can be. Seumalo is the weak link but the O-line is now rebuilt.

The Steelers finished 15th in overall DVOA (19th in offense, 8th in defense, and 2nd in special teams). In terms of weighted DVOA, they were the 2nd worst team that was in the playoffs (Houston was last). Baltimore finished the season as the 7th best DVOA in history. It sucks that we lost, but the Steelers just aren't in the top tier of teams. You can't bank on a defense winning games for you when your offense can't score points.

I don't understand how everyone is pissed off at a team that is clearly not a finished product. This is about where I expected them to be at the start of the season. Russ just happened to drive hope up until the final 4 weeks and the playoffs. They improved the oline, but it was made up of 2 rookies, a 2nd year tackle who was backsliding until near the end of the season, a 4th year tackle no fan seems to want (and who probably cost himself some money with his play at the end of the season), and even Seumalo was getting pushed around. And Pickens as your only true receiver was ridiculous, as was his attitude at times. They better find a replacement for him next year since he doesn't seem to want to be here, too bad it's not a stronger receiver class, because I would say sign a strong free agent wr and draft one high just in case he's an issue again. And the defense continues to show it still needs players, DL, CB, which need to be drafted high if free agents that fit our needs can't be found, but DL needs to get younger regardless. Though with the players they have, they definitely underperformed and the playoff scheme was laughable and frustrating to watch. Hire a new DC and get Tomlin's hands off it and force him into more of a CEO position. Curious to see what will actually occur. And had to laugh at the accidental Fountainhead reference with the two college qbs Howard and Rourke. Thanks guys! Was waiting to hear your perspective.

That is what these elite QB's can do. See the defense, recognize the potential weakness/soft spots, and make really quick decisions for where the ball needs to go. I know he isn't a guarantee, no QB is, but I think it would be worth it to take a shot with him. Even let him sit for a year and let Fields start next year🤷♂️

-Anybody still whining and crying about the Steelers being 9-point dogs? -This franchise has been outscored 63-0 in the 1st quarter its last five playoff games. Is that the players? They’ve been different, right? Different coordinators, right? Same head coach? Yes. -This franchise is soft. It just played out in front of the entire country. They’re soft. Is that the culture instilled by this head coach? -Harbaugh narrative…dead. He’s better than Tomlin. His team wins. His team beat up Tomlin’s. His team said we aren’t going to throw the ball. You know it, we know it, and we like it. Lamar narrative…dead. He wins playoff games. He beats the Steelers. Tomlin narrative…more alive than ever. -The Steelets got bullied. Not debatable. Is that the type of team we should want moving forward? Is that a well-coached team? -299 to 29. -Cleveland and Cincinnati have more recent playoff wins than the Steelers. -Russell Wilson did not have a winning record with the Steelers. 6-6. -20 consecutive games without scoring a TD on opening drive. Same head coach-different coordinators. -His last 127 snaps..0 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 pressures. Thats TJ Watt’s line. -The Ravens ran the ball 50 times. 50! And TJ Watt had ZERO stats. No tackles, no assists, nada. Was it this show glowing about his “run defense?” Roger Rosengarten is his daddy. -Is Tyler Linderbaum still too small? He beat up the Steelers. Beat.them.up. -Kendrick Green stinks. He’s another in a very long list of Colbert busts. Kendrink Green has more playoff wins than TJ Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick combined. -No more talk about how good the Steelers are in primetime or stand alone games. 2-7 in 2024 in front of the national audience. And that doesn't count how they did it all in front of Hard Knocks. -The Steelers brand is trash. Every national show yesterday killed them. Bill Cowher killed them. Every single radio and tv show today killed them. That is most disheartening. -Glad we traded a fifth-round pick for Mike Williams and his 10 catches. Good job! -“We don’t live in our fears.” Unless its 4th down and an inch and you’re behind. Then you don’t go for it and throw in the towel. Weak. Soft. -“Nobody runs on this defense when Cam Heyward is on the field.” What show did I hear that on? -Ravens players laughing out loud on front of reporters about how thinly disguised the defense was. Mike Tomlin’s defense.

There are those who expected this. Hope for the best, prepare for the inevitable. Ben called out Tomlin's shortcomings in 2016 after the Dallas game. No discipline and a lack of accountability was the culture. Also known as a players coach, aka a cheerleader. Ben calling out the coach and players got them to win out and make the AFCC game, the last year they won a playoff game. Are our draft picks busts, or is it coaching. Our DB draft picks were good until LeBeau, the HOF CB, was forced out, then they were Burns, Davis Edmunds'esque. Tomlin is a good coach, not a great coach, and his deficiencies only allow us to win in the regular season. Just like Marty Schottenheimer. Art Rooney II mandated the return to smashmouth. Tomlin obliged. Tomlin runs the defense....and it looks the same since LeBeau was forced out. Art Rooney II political ideology only cares about one goal. Mike Tomlin will surpass Chuck Noll in 2026 for 9th most wins in NFL history. Actually, Tomlin will pass Marty Schottenheimer at #8. It is important to AR2, if it wasn't, Tomlin would have been asked to retire. Yet he received a contract extension until... Analyst Kirk Herbstreit during the game said, "Where the hell is the fight, this is the Pittsburgh Steelers, they're just going through the motions."

Mediocre Mike strikes again. Nothing (of substance) is going to change.....there will be a fall-guy or 2 or 3 (coordinators), but the main problem will persist to another 9 or 10 win season and another one-and-done in the playoffs next year....what an incredible waste of many talented players over the years...we fans, and the city of Pittsburgh deserve better...smh...

Look to your HB C U for talent . They are there still.

Eagles won their first Super Bowl ever with a backup. Russ should be able to take this team to the next level. The defense is washed up and hasn’t aged well 3rd year guys are acting like rookies out there. Any more all pros that we sign from Baltimore are not going to fix our coaching and the lousy scheme

Does that also mean you won't be commenting here anymore? I'll miss that. We were not kind to the team on today's show at all. Don't know what you wanted.
