I appreciate how these older vids arent drowned in rod/ gear advertising like a lot of the current salmon and steelhead content is these days! I could imagine that pimping out a yarn or drift bobber company would've benefitted y'all!!😆 j/k..! Tight lines and good weather!!

It’s interesting to see how many things have evolved. And yet, what worked still works.

Hatchery AND wild fish can and SHOULD coexist in our river systems! The wild fish only experiment in today’s rivers and ocean environments is a failed experiment! Let’s bring our hatchery’s back on line so we can go back to fishing instead of watching old videos of how it use to be!

How long you think that boat is
@twistedjigco.5483 жыл бұрын
You’d think since they don’t spawn and die that our numbers would be so much higher than salmon with them returning again the next year.. but Wa must not be hatching as many steelhead as they do salmon.

Why no net? Would probably make landing easier, though that was a beautiful landing job without one in the beginning, but I just dont see why not since you have a boat to carry it? It would be easier on the fish too, not that I'm saying there was anything wrong with the way that fish was handled, because it was handled very well. Just seems a net would make it a little easier, so I'm just curious.

My guess is net restrictions. Good in a sense that you don’t have folks with long nets netting fish from their redds, bad because it’s impossible for centerpinners to net fish with 13 foot rods and floats 10’ from their hook. My 4 foot net barely gives me enough reach, so unfortunately beaching fish is necessary
