I'm so glad REI presented this amazing adventure story with its incredible cast of real-life characters. Too often REI only presents young people discovering their abilities outdoors and testing their endurance levels. Those are great stories, to be sure. But the wisdom, contribution and legacy of the older generation to outdoor adventures have made an indelible impression for all to enjoy. I hope REI will feature more stories like this one that celebrate this group of older, often overlooked explorers. It serves as proof that the indomitable spirit of adventure lives in all ages. No particular generation has a monopoly on it. -from Tom Pilling

This is the most inspirational movie I’ve ever seen that captures fishing, family, and love. Your relationship with family and the river........it’s amazing! The laughter and joy is infectious! I’ve been fly fishing for 6 years now and though my wife does not go with me she sees my passion for this sport. It’s beautiful to be in a sport that will take you to the most breathtaking places. Thank you for sharing.

As an 18 year old getting ready to get out and really experience life, this video gives me a lot of hope. Between this couple's love for one another to their never ending seek for adventure. Lovely video. They have worked hard and built an amazing life. Thanks for the gorgeous video with life lessons, and amazing movie making behind it. That's not even mentioning the fish they caught!! That is for sharing :)

I started playing this thinking I was watching a fly fishing video and soon discovered it was far more than that. We live in New Zealand and have no shortage of fish all year round but so many people don’t realise what we have (might be a good thing) My wife is the adventure taker (currently in South Sudan) and I could relate so much to what you shared. Beautifully put together and what an amazing and inspiring story.... loved it and have sent her the link for when she is back in the land of good internet. Can’t wait for out next adventure (together - just take me with you)

Setting aside time every month to go steelhead fishing is so impractical and an unnecessary extravagance...which is more reason that I LOVE THAT THEY DO IT! This warms my heart so much that they do this just because it gives them joy. How many people can say the same? I couldn’t have found this video at a better time. Both the story and the scenery are magnificent.

I'm not one to typically comment, but this film has earned it. I have been swinging flies for steelhead for a while, and have fallen in love with the sport and the species. I saw this film for the first time when it came out, but watching it again, after even more years of steelhead fishing, I have an even greater appreciation for the message. In my opinion, this film captures the essence and love for these fish that so many have; with a great story and seemingly great people. WELL DONE!
@barkeepnathanelliott38404 жыл бұрын
This was a truly exceptional film. I grew up in Western Colorado and although we weren't chasing Steelhead we were always exploring the rivers and lakes hunting fish. Now I live in Oregon and I'm on the hunt for Steelhead. The comments regarding our responsibility to conserve these beautiful fisheries and places really resonates with me. We are fortunate to experience them and we must protect them. Cheers and thank you!

I live here in Ireland and spend a considerable amount of time (and money) travelling to the USA and Canada in persuit of not only those magnificient steelheads, but also the magnificient scenery and lifestyle the west coast has to offer. That video captivated me because it epitomizes the planning, travel, enthusiasm and dedication that goes into each trip. I was up on the Skeena river in western Canada in August fishing for steelhead and loved every second of it, we are currently planning a return visit there next Sept. And have only just returned from another fishing trip in south west Florida where I had another awesome time. Keep up the good work and perhaps we may even cross paths (or) fly lines some day, who knows!! PS Loved the surgeon generals advice about pork sausages and beer!!!! :-)
