That pink swimbait is something I'd throw for bass as well as steelhead. I broke off on a 4lb bass using a pink Senko, a little while later I caught that same fish 100 yards away on another pink Senko!

That's fish right off your rod tip water, they'll be hiding behind your legs to break the current. Those are large profile lures, good for murky water. Not surprised you hooked one, Brian! Too bad he was camera shy! Hey, everyone cant be Murdock!😂

You beat me to it sir. As soon as I seen the water I was gonna message him saying the same exact things. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been fishing my home river and got to the spot and seen dudes wading in their waders up to their waste, just because. I mean come on if your wearing waders that means you got to get in water deep enough that it can potentially get your feet wet. Lmao. Anyway I’ll never forgot one time in that scenario I went above the cluster of guys and I let my spin glow and bait swing all the way downstream and stop on the bank. Literally got about a 8-9lb hatchery hen that when I hooked her, she rolled directly behind the guys in between them and the bank we were standing. That was the most iconic story of mine for this example of high water steelhead. My uncle use to use the analogy of look at the fish like humans. You come to a fork in the path. One goes up hill and the other goes around on flat ground. Which one would you most likely take to sustain your energy?? Those fish don’t want to fight uphill, when they can swim in that calmer water on the flat trail. lol. Just had to chime in on this one. Thank you for the videos and I don’t personally know you guys. But any avid steelhead fisherman is a brother of mine. Were cut from a certain cloth.

man, that water was moving. tough conditions to land one too. do you prefer slinkies to dave's tangle free, or punched lead weights?
@AutomagicAdventures
@AutomagicAdventures 5 ай бұрын
Punched lead is my favorite. Feels like a tap rather then a scratch tap. Slinky isn’t a bad choice also. I’ve got a new weight system that is very snag resistant but it’s more for under a float.
