Brother Jamel, thanks for covering this wonderful piece from the timeless Steelheart vault. When I was deployed on my first deployment in active duty military service this song came out and hit #1 on the charts. My late fiancee loved Steelheart, and this was our song. Six months into my deployment she and my unborn daughter was murdered, and my superiors would not allow me leave stating I was mission essential. I love the admiration and praise of your reaction videos to timeless songs; this is one of them. Thank-you for sharing your heartfelt thoughts to a masterpiece of music and performance. This was one of, if not the last of the hair metal songs. 1991 - Nirvana Alice in chains and Soundgarden were just releasing the albums that would forever drive a stake through the heart of this kind of music. At the time I was glad, now that there's been nothing like this for 30 years, I'm nostalgic for hair metal

Hey Jamel the lead singer of Steelheart actually started with a Christian rock band called Rage of Angels back in the 80's. They only made one album( that I happen to own), but it's amazing as well. Just thought I'd throw that little tidbit of information at you. Blessings brother

Hi Charles. I was going to purchase the Rage of Angels CD from Discogs. However they show a different lead singer who’s name is Dan Mariano, Not Miljenko Matijevic (Michael Matijevic / Mikey Steel). Do you know if he changed his name? Miljenko has such a unique voice, I would love to hear him sing Christian Music. I’m going to do some more research too, as I’m curious now. Please let me know. I saw them and REO Speedwagon in concert during a block party sponsored by Budweiser back in 1991. It was in San Antonio, and is held every year. I was stationed at FT. Sam Houston at the time, and I met my brother at the concert who was stationed 90 miles west in Del Rio, Texas. It was a good time.

I grew up with the 80's "Hair Bands", and the Fat Boys, Big Daddy Kane, seemed like everybody. My favorites were most of the metal and hard rock bands, Lionel, Billy Ocean, The Neville Brothers, etc. To me, the 80's decade and the first 2 or 3 years into the 90's is where the greatest music was. Topic being Steelheart and power ballads there's one of the second album that actually blows these two away. "Mama don't you cry". It's from a different dimension, and until I Heard that album (and that song) I thought their first album would be impossible to beat, as well as the two ballads on it.
