Thanks to the movie I discovered Steelheart! I was there btw. His voice IRL is too good. I think I came like 5 times. ^^

As a lot of people said already, the vocals in Rock Star on Mark Wahlberg are not provided by himself. They are however provided by Miljenko Matijevic, who is the frontman of Steelheart and is the one singing in this video. So you where quite right in noticing the similarities, it's exactly the same voice.

I'd like to know why rock stars are afraid to look like rock stars anymore. 8O's Steelheart is the best....nice job on the song~!

Very true indeed, but I do believe the soundtrack version (so the most commercial known verion probably) is done by Miljenko Matijevic. If I remember correct, 'Chris Cole's' vocals are done by Miljenko Matijevic and 'Bobby Beer's' vocals are done by Jeff Scott Soto.

I love Skid Row, but Mili has a much larger range than Sab. He's got tons more power too. I always thought Sebastian was the best, until I heard steelheart. On top of that, Sab doesnt sound anything like he used to and Mili is a BEAST still. Listen too him sing Shes Gone acoustic, while chewing gum! Overall, I must dissagree and say Mili rocks and Sab comes in a close second

badlands came out too late, grunge was already starting to taking off, if they would have started a few years sooner it would have been a differnt story think.

bara en aning bättre i filmen rockstar. önskar det fanns ett band som lira så. Då kunde jag kanske fått reda på dom faktiskt lira i sverige, för nu hade jag verkligen ingen aning.

Right, ok. Who the fuck was Ray Gillen and Eric Singer?!?! Nobody with a shred of talent or proper insight into the scene in his body, would say that. And no, the writing was supreme. None of the by-the-meter bands you mention have any international format - at all.

Mark Wahlberg didnt sing it you know. He is just an actor.

on the level of Steelheart and badlands?? what level is Badlands at, the only talent in Badlands is Lee and his writing in Badlands is no good. Sweeden has tons of real talent right now, thats all I'm saying
@WarmothGuitarist12 жыл бұрын
He's good, but not as good as the guy he's clearly trying to emulate...and that is the one and only Sebastian Bach.

the bassplayer is totally misplaced

Eric Singer rode coat tails of other bands to gain any type of notoriety. And Ray Gillen has has done nothing either, he even said himself that he was Black Sabbath's worst singer!! Badlands went nowhere and did nothing but small club shows so obviously his writing was not 'supreme'. You may love it but call it supreme, come on. Don't get me wrong, I hate the fact they don't look like rock stars anymore. But Steelheart and Badlands are not good examples of raw talent
