When watching this and considering the Arctis 7's, bear in mind Steelseries released a rehashed version of the Arctis 7, with more padding added for the earcups, I own them and have zero issues.

This is really weird, I have an Arctis 5 and I have friends who have the 5 & 7 and NONE of us sound that bad. It sounds soooooooo clear, and I get a lot of comments on that too from random people I've come across in games.

@@slaviivanov03 sorry buddy! didn't see your reply. I haven't tried the 7, i only have the 5. They're really good, i've had mine for about 2 years now and no complaints, other than changing the cushions and maybe the wire for the headset, it's still working really well. The only thing i dislike about the 5's is that the wire is super long and I often get it stuck under my armrest and stuff, so I've been thinking about getting the 7's for a while. Go for whichever you think would suit you more :)

Great video as always mate. Been considering these for a while as my Plantronics RiG pair went bust on me. Wireless is appealing to me more and more but good audio quality is hard to find. As others in the comment section mentions, there's no where to go and try headsets on before buying. I find that one of the hardest things to recommend or have an idea about from others are audio equipment. Everyone's tastes and fitment is different. I've Rushbought the Asus Magnus RGB mic so I think buying a wireless headset sans mic by itself might be the way forward for me. Just to leave my two cents, the Fnatic DUEL also provides best audio quality + comfort fit IMO. That's another to consider in this price range.

For anyone on the fence about the A7, they're a solid *wireless* headset. I don't find them to be 150 worth tho. I got mine for 100 and I'm legit happy with that price point. If it was original price I'll have much higher expectations. If you're all about good sound, invest 150 on a pair of headphones. Throw in another 50 for a mod mic and move on. I love my m50xs but I love wireless when I'm gaming on console, the A7 don't surpass the m50xs in sound quality since I can't drive them more but so far I'm impressed

James Buchanan people aim for the A7 for its main appealed 'wireless gaming'. If you're all about sound quality invest on the Pro wireless for $320+ something or just go with a cord version that the A5 provide. The A7 also comes with a cord for USB charging and/or to use it on tablets with its 3.5 jack. All of that defies also the point of the wireless appeal. If you do PC gaming you have more control of the sound with its EQ profiles and so forth. On default they sounded OK but I played around with it and got a stronger louder sound out of them. This means nothing for console gaming. Mic is pretty good and people say that I sound much better on the PS4 Pro too. Sound is loud and it does the job. They don't stand a chance against my m50xs though. But again they're aim for music not exactly gaming. Arctics is trying to blur the line with its pro series but that depends on your budget. Most audiophiles already have a great setup and skip them entirely. Also, while the ear cushions are nice and all, they slip so easy off my ears so I ended up investing in ear cushions.

That's one of the things I liked about the A7, it uses a transmitter, not a bluetooth which is a genius move due to eliminating lag latency altogether. That's the one thing I dread about Bluetooth headsets. Unfortunately there is no good wireless gaming headset out there, you can buy a good pair of wireless headphones and invest on the a mic if the cable bothers you so. But you'll be stuck with the bluetooth factor. The m50x is a solid buy for sound quality, but you'll be stuck buying the bluetooth adapter for it, which goes back to the whole bluetooth thing. Seems like your only real solution is just to save up for the pro wireless Arctis, which honestly overly priced. If you're going for the cable route, you can invest in the Arctis GameDac version, it's 100 dollars less than the pro wireless and you get superior sound. Still overpriced imho. EDIT: Have you considered the GameOne from Sennheiser? If you're going wired, I recommend that instead.

James Buchanan I can think of various headsets but you want wireless and I'm stump. Take the gamble on the A7, if it's not to your liking return them? Or consider Razer Thresher? Most lean towards the A7 over the Razer due to the mic. It just balls down to preference

I had the same issue with my ears pressing against the headphones, causing irritation and discomfort. I advice to buy the leather cushions available at the steelseries website. It's slightly larger and doesn't make your ears pressed against the headphones. It's much more comfortable as well.

I decided to go with the wireless one this time. In my country they cost the same at the store where I bought them. I`ve always used wired headphones/headsets and always managed to break each and every cable or headphones due to the wire. I`m a competitive player in overwatch and as I played my last match for contender ( Semi-Pro league ). Now I do hope that the wireless function works great, and lasts long. I usually tend to spend my whole day in front of my desk or on the other side of my office making videos. I also believe that getting them will: make me able to go grab food downstairs without having to take my headsets off ( for Skype, queue notifications etc.. ), and being able to leave my desk while still talking to my friends, such as taking a break. I do have a Audio Technica at2020+ USB that I use for my regular mic. So I guess having a second mic to use while chilling in bed while on discord is great to have. I will edit once I receive the headset. (Kinda bored lol)

I was going to do the same but then I seen you can just buy a new cord off the site for 8 bucks or so. I decided to stay wired, figured its cheaper to replace the one wire compared to if something happens with the wireless headset you kind of have no choice but to replace the entire thing. Figured spending $8 was better than another $150 lol

I don't think you understand how headphones work. You won't be able to wear a headset with the psvr. 7.1 surround sound will work on any device Why would you buy a wireless pair of headphones to use with a wire?

I got the arctis 3 right. And theres two issues ive come across. 1: headband stretches over time untill you wont be able to use the '' whatever the fuck how that's called in english '' material for setting the band. Cause you need to stretch it so far that there isnt anymore...... fabric??? sticky stuff??? whatever. 2: When i lay down on a pillow it tends to adjust volume because the volume wheel always somehow touches the pillow or anything. Very decent headset. Best one i have had so far. Soundwise and buildquality, awesome headset.

I own the 7s and I find them to be one of the most comfortable headsets I have worn, currently I own these 7s, Razer Kraken 7.1s, and Audio Technica MX40's. They are easily the most comfortable of the 3 pairs although the MX40's sound the best, for wireless headsets I have tried these the Corsair and the Logitech h800's...these steel series are the best of those 3 for wireless. Way better than the corsair voids, the corsair are weird shaped cups, the clamping force is too tight on your head and you do not get very good range..and the mic sucks horribly.

El Maxoh no. Only the 7 is wireless. You can do cable too if desired on the 7 like for consoles and mobiles since the 7 isn't Bluetooth but it uses a transmitter which is 100000% better than Bluetooth

People are gonna hate me for it but I'm thinking of switching from open back headphones to a closed back headset. Unless someone can help me out but the Philips SHP9500s were *super* disappointing. Now I'm considering the HyperX Clouds. The Philips didn't get loud enough, they were too loose and took a bit of fiddling to feel right on my head and there's basically no base although that's common for open-back headphones. Their only redeeming quality for me is that the earcups are beyond soft. They're definitely comfortable. But I bought into the hype and now I kinda regret it :p Maybe I just need an AMP. Someone suggested that.

Kadomex Kadomex I even thought i had a faulty product so that i sent them back to the seller but later he told me that there's nothing wrong and it's just how the quality is ._. , for me the cloud was not a good experience but i can say they have a great mic. To me their sound quality is worse than a 30$ soundmagic in ear earphone, so i was so disappointed about the hype. But I'd recommend you to test the ones you're planning to buy if possible.

Irham Akbar Yeah that's how I felt about the 9500s. They just couldn't live up to the hype. If people had recommended them as neutral headphones with a pleasant sound it would've been alright. but people were using terms like *AMAZING!* and *COMPARES TO $300 HEADPHONES!* So when I bought them and they sounded pretty regular I was disappointed. But they're not gaming oriented. They're made for normal listening and *can* be used for gaming. Explosions sound like they're 20 feet away. I want them to sound like I'm right next to them. 😂 But I definitely need something with a little more oomph and tighter clamp.

They all have the same sound card signature. The mic is a little better on the 7 but not that noticeable from the 5. Also, the 5 has RGB because its wired, the 7 doesn't. Those are the only real differences, unless you want to go with the looks too, the 7 has the headband all around, the 5 is just inside. The 5 has a knob for chat or game audio. The 7 has it built in on the headset. It boils down to preferences and money. If you want wireless gaming, get the 7.
