It was far from effortless, read some of the stories, like how they obsessed over the fade-out on this song. I know what you mean, though. They just worked so damn hard on it that it sounds effortless.

@@UnicornOfDepression Wow! Where did you hear speakers like that? I'm sure they're great speakers, but I tend to think people that spend that money on audio have more money than brains. Unless you need to fill a gigantic room with sound, you can get a setup that measures near perfectly for under $10k, and probably even half that if you buy used. I'd gladly take a pair of KEF R11s or Perlisten R7ts or Revel F228's, a pair of good subwoofers, Dirac room correction, and probably have sound that would beat most systems costing 10x more in blind tests.

Yessir! Kirsch, also known as Kirschwasser, is a clear fruit brandy distilled from cherries. Unlike other cherry-flavored “brandies,” Kirsch is not sweet. A good Kirsch should have pronounced cherry flavor and aroma as well as a subtle, bitter flavor that comes from distilling the pits with the cherry juice.(Copied from a Google search)

A kirschwasser (/ˈkɪərʃvɑːsər/, UK also /-væsər/; German: [ˈkɪʁʃvasɐ], German for "cherry water") or kirsch is a clear, colorless brandy traditionally made from double distillation of morello cherries, a dark-colored cultivar of the sour cherry. However, it is now also made from other kinds of cherries.

@@lorenzobaines6222 The Wendel drum machine (the first ever drum machine!) was built by engineer Roger Nichols during the middle of recording of the album. Therefore some of the songs like this one, Gaucho, and Third World Man (which was actually a leftover from the Aja sessions) are 100% natural drums. Other songs like Hey Nineteen, Glamour Profession, Time Out Of Mind, and My Rival have the Wendel drum replacement machine in place, where they took the drum grooves played by a real drummer and replaced the sounds with samples to make every snare hit sound identical and fix tiny timing mistakes, etc.

Yay Jamal! What a blast to watch & listen to w/ you, a favorite of mine, smooth as melted butter. Watching your face @ end, just when song is on the fade out, you get wave of fresh "you've got to shake it babies"-LOL- wonderful to see sweet surprise on your smiling face! Thank you, again, so much, for spending the time & opening the mind, experiencing other genres, offering genuine emotion, solemn respect & infectious curiosity for this music. Many of us, like myself, grew up w/a lot of this, took for granted it's only a radio dial away & slowly drifted away from my roots. Listening w/you, brought me back to basics, w/newfound respect, awe in some cases (the very young ages of Gregg Allman, along w/ Led Zeppelin, these guys blow doors off absolutely anyone today musically @ same age, hell, most musicians entire career can't do what Led Zeppelin did on debut album). I promised Led Zeppelin that if they forgave me for leaving, that I'd never, never, never gonna leave you, never leave you when the summer comes along

Glad you were digging one of my favorite songs by the Dan! FYI yes it really is "sisters" plural - the singers on the recording are just sliding that final s on the end of "sisters" into the start of "shake it" -- it's a standard singers' technique when you want a really smooth line, I was schooled in it by several choir directors :-D ... If you want to see Don and Walt do this one live with a really tight fabulous band, check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH65fHSFrrmIm5Y ... carry on, man!
