I nearly fell off when the go karts were there beneath my teacher held on to me for dear life never knew how high it got if I had of fallen on the concrete dunno I'd def been hurt 😂 plus them turns were so sharp one wrong hold and you'd go flying

I went on this ride when I was about 10 years old. It is easily the scariest ride on the park as you seem so high up, and feel so wobbly and precarious, especially going round the bends!

Without a doubt the scariest ride you can go on anywhere in the world. Okay, you can go on a rollercoaster that does 100mph and loops the loop 15 times, but it's all designed by computer and has a million safety measures. The Steeplechase has none of that; it's just you sitting on a horse, on a single rail, without any safety protection except a tiny seat belt, that shakes and bangs around, and you genuinely have to cling on for dear life. And at the end it slams to a stop, smashing in to your shins and giving you huge bruises. No way this would be allowed to be built nowadays. Love it!

I remember building these in Rollercoaster tycoon, I always thought they were a fantasy coaster type. I was today years old when I found out they were actually real!

WOW this brings back memories. In August 1978 I toured England with my Canadian soccer/football team, I was 15, and during our one free week my dad and I went to Blackpool and Poulton-le-fylde (where he was from) to visit his side of the family. Aside from meeting my Grandmother (who had visited us before), uncle, aunt, cousins and various relatives going on this ride is one thing that sticks out as a memory. While I remember it being faster and higher, as happens with childhood memories, it was one of the most fun rides I had ever been on. I just remembered it was sitting high up on the horse, with zero safety restraints, that made it fun and slightly scary at first.

Yep.... People don't believe me when I say it used to have Zero safety back jn the day.... But yes it's true!!! I recall the no seatbelt /hang on for your life version of this ride in the 80s,/90s..... Good times!!!!

Rode this today twice & this in my opinion is part of what makes Blackpool so unique mixture of old & new so much variety in the park. Nostalgia is a wonderful part of life and riding these brings back childhood memories! First time on Valhalla loved it xx

When it abruptly comes to a halt at the end absolutely kills but it's a great ride to go on! Always feel jittery when I go on it though!

I said I'd never go on this ride but been on it 3 times now. Once you learn where the jolts happen you can brace yourself but the first time is horrendous! Worth going on for the novelty alone. Great fun

Helps to lean into the corners too. Going up I lean forward slightly going down I lean back a tiny bit.

Another one of my BPB faves .. and the last of its kind in the world. ... I'm a theme park /ride geek ..... So good that BPB preserved these vintage treasures... I remember back in the day we had no seatbelt.. it was a "hold on for dear life * type of thing lol .. my 2nd fave ride at BPB

There used to be actual real life pony rides underneath this ride. Single sand track with lead rein rides on bored looking ponies and I distinctly remember being on the Steeplechase feeling sure we were about to end up on the back of a small palamino pony underneath 🤣

For some reason, this ride seemed the least scary to me 😅 I refused to go on most of the rides but loved this one! It was a bit sore going around corners at first but overall a great experience 😊

@@RideReview ernsthaft? :D ich dachte des liegt am Streckenverlauf. Weil es viel mehr Linkskurven hat als rechts und daher links die Strecke kürzer sein müsste als rechts (wie wenn man im Stadion die innere Runde läuft)
