I started hating both Elena and Damon when they slept together THE NEXT DAY after Elena and Stefan broke up. Like what the hell?? If they were decent people they would have given Stefan at least a couple of weeks time before getting together. Lexi was awesome she not only died to soon but she was also screwed over when the writers made her sleep with Damon of all people, Lexi was one of the very few who didn’t fall for Damon’s “bad boy” bullshit and wouldn’t hesitate to call him out on it and would sooner castrate him then sleep with him.

Yess...stelena was indeed 'epic love' , but steroline was 'true love'. There is a difference between epic and true. Caroline accepted Stefan completely for who he was and did not want to change him. The biggest two mistakes the writers of TVD made is that they killed Lexi too soon and that they made her sleep with Damon. Recently i rewatched the series and her whole character was based on being wise and helping Stefan, she should have never sleep with Damon ever, that was the biggest out of context move that could happen for her character.. I love the Stefan and Lexi chemistry. the writers could have kept her for more episodes in season 1. Also, they could have brought her back in season 5. I would have preferred Stefan and Lexi vs Stefan and Caroline.
