I don't think they deserved second place, but the level of negativity in these posts are completely uncalled for. We should applaud dancers who gather their courage to give dancing one more shot, risking making a fool out of themselves. That takes guts.

I did think Stefano looked rather casual here, but he was certainly a different dancer at the UK! Perhaps it was intended to help with the element of surprise.

Maybe they came back to the dancefloor because they love it, not to please a group of people who do nothing but criticize others. At least they are still dancing unlike most commentators here.

I love the people complaining they got 2nd at UK based on the 5 videos they managed to see. Like somehow every judge got it wrong 🙄. Many judges had them 1st over all.

I like it. It is nice for a practice session. But an ingredient is missing for sure. Some kind of connection and friendly attitude. One thing with these two, you never know in what mood they will be in. And, right now, in this dance, Anna seems to be distant towards him, ... hahaha. Kind of typical of her. She can be a difficult kind of partner in a partnership. She may think she is being neutral, but she comes off as being a little aloof instead. She is a little bit of a complicated person. But they have a nice style together, similar elegance and ability and spunk, and have a certain chemistry that is great when they are in a good mood with each other. I think if Anna relaxes her attitude a little, they can be great together. If not, we will always spot when something is not going well.

Stefano won the world Youth Latin(WDC) in Australia in 2004(?)...and at that time Anna was beside him(?)...and Anna returned to Slavik in 2006(?)...and 2010 was the year where Stefano, the pro, slipped to outside the top 20 ranks...and the next year he dramatically rebounded to top 10...Slavik actually retired in the previous year in 2010...Stefano soon thereafter began his pro career as the Blackpool Adult Latin finalists.....

Good dancing and good competitive dancing are not always the same thing. You can find a great number of good dancers, however, not all of them do or should compete. In fact, "good" is really not a valid criteria for competition assessment. Doesn't mean anything (no facepalm).

It would be enough for shows all that old staff, however they will never be Slavik and Karina, but for competition they should reinvent all routeens and train a lot... nevertheless i like them and wish them luck!

I don’t see them as contenders for the final or even the semifinal. Imo, this is the case of old wine in old wine skins. Everything about their dancing screams “dated.” They have not updated at all, just an “older” but not better version of the former Anna and Stefano. Don’t wanna be a naysayer, but I think they need to think twice before putting themselves out there again😕

I agree with you. Kirill's new partnership looks much more fresh, interesting and strong in comparison to this. Although Valeria also had a rather long break from latin dancing, it was not as long as Anna's . 12 years is a whole epoch, during which so many changes in dancing speed and technique have taken place. It's rather sad, but in spite of this I think this couple still has a chance to be in the final, just because of their past fame and the fact that they are so experienced professional dancers known by everyone. It will be interesting to see how they are judged by whom - to me it will say a lot about the judges' objectivity.

@Мария Фомина I honestly don’t see them displacing any of the current finalists and, imo, they would be incredibly lucky to make the semi. I think this one is the worst of all recent partnerships. Stefano’s dancing here looks tired, sloppy, and unmotivated, and Anna’s movement looks heavy and stationary, and I’m tired of seeing the same shoulder shrug. Once it was cute and individual to her, but now it’s just stale, like their dance style. If this is the best that they could come up with in terms of dance material and quality of dancing, then I really struggle to understand what the point of this reunion was.

@@ficklefialka309 It was the disire to dance, I guess, but why go to competitions, I don't get it either. Stefano still has a good potential, but he seems to be not very inspired by his partner to be more energetic. Anna is just not in such a good physical form as the other girls. If she reallly wanted to compete, probably the best first step would have been not to restore the old rumba, but to spend more time in the gym, like other top dancers do today. But maybe even that would not have helped, because she has been out of touch with the latin dancing technique for a long time, so her style is rather outdated. And frankly speeking, she was not such a great star before. Not in the same list as the best top dancers of the past, who still may look great today, even though their technique is not quite up to date.

​@@Maria_Fomina I've always liked watching Anna dance, even if I didn't always love her dancing. I liked her least with Slavik, and I think she was absolutely brilliant during her brief partnership with Formica (I'll forever regret that they never made it onto the competition floor together). As far as this dance project goes, I think what they really should've done is get together for drinks, have a swell time talking about their past and move on, instead of trying to desperately re-animate it 🤷‍♀

I've seen her mostly with Slavik and very little with Formica. Judging by instagram comments she still has a lot of ardent fans, they could make some shows for them, so that everyone was happy.

I can't recognize this as Stefano, the Steff we knew. He is extremely far from the competitive dancer he was. Anna is not so good either. Judges should rethink themselves, if this gets to the semi final. It does not belong there. This is practice, but practice reveals a lot.
