Incredible that Steffi Graf has three of the greatest tennis weapons/arsenal of all time even with today’s standards. 1. The FOREHAND (Power/Precision) 2. The BACKHAND SLICE (Counterattack) 3. The MOVEMENT (Speed/Agility/Footwork) This trifecta makes her unique and incredible to witness!!! No other tennis athlete, man or woman, can claim that... with the exception of the great Roger Federer. Steffi Graf is the Greatest of All Time in the history of women’s professional tennis!!!

Those are 3 things Roger and Steffi have in common. They undoubtedly have the best forehands in the history of tennis. Sure, some would quibble about Nadal's FH...but he can't do half the things with his forehand that Roger can do...and he'd say that himself, so it's not like he doesn't know.

One detail about Steffi. Even when she wasn't playing her best she would still find a way to win. That's intimidating. How many times did Sabatini, playing at her best just couldn't stop Steffi. Or the 1999 French Open final. Hingis winning, but makes a few mistakes and Steffi doesn't forgive her. Give Steffi an opening and she turns the match around. And she was out of the French in '97 and' 98 because of injuries and Hingis was N°1. Steffi didn't care and left Martina crying in her mother's arms. And the most lovable thing about Steffi, she didn't grunt, berate officials, nor towel off between points. A total lady, but unbeatable.

Every time I watch old Graf footage like this, I am reminded again just how brilliant a player she was. A true master of tennis who would kick any of today's players to the curb - no doubt. While the men's game has grown more and more competitive over the decades and the prospects are bright, I fear we won't see such levels of excellence in the women's game for a while.

Ms. Graf's forehands were not only some of the most punishing but were also some of the prettiest. And she was such a graceful mover on court as well with light, nimble, beautiful footwork .

There is no doubt in my mind that Steffi Graf was THE best female tennis player….she had a great backhand, a stunning forehand, amazing agility around the court and all achieved with NO complaining, grunting, swearing or questioning decisions. Apart from her many, many titles she is the only player, male or female, to have won the Golden Grand Slam (which included a Gold Olympic medal) in the same calendar year (1988). I had the privilege to see Steffi play when I was in the crowd at Wimbledon on several occasions, it genuinely left me in awe at just how talented a player she was. ❤

3:02 the greatest and at the same time the most significant of them all. Turned the match late in the third set, with graf pounding a forehand inside out while moving backwards, made her pump out her fist in joy. The first slam win in over a year. The only win over sabatini in 1991 amongst the 5 matches they played that year. But this was by far the most important of these.
