@iowafox2206 I have ideas on how to add A/C. If it had A/C it would be the ultimate machine for sure.

We’ve got a Utilimax with the gas engine. We put a 5’ Boss v plow on it. If you rob the hydraulic hose from the dump you run all functions with the 3 levers. Ours doesn’t have a cab. Great machine. Kind of hard to mow with since you’re sitting in front of the articulation. We also have 2 3400y’s with cabs, a 420 and an old S-18.

@jeffgootjes8418 The large V plow would be nice. I love the 3400Ys. I was looking at getting one of them, But it would not handle my 72 inch blade very well. I always wanted a Utilimax with a cab. I thought they were unique and diffrent. I do like how the engine on the Ventrac 3400 is in the rear. Makes service and maintenance very easy.

@@steiger256 what I’ve found is that the 3400y is really good at clearing snow off narrow sidewalks with a lot of turns. The Utilimax is great for wider sidewalks and for us is alot more useful in the summer months. We built high sides and sloped tail that allows us to haul about a yard of mulch around at a time. We also haul dirt, sand etc in it. It can handle a pretty good load. They’re both handy machines in their own way.

@@jeffgootjes8418 I agree. The 3400 is the best sidewalk machine. I think that is part of why the UM428 was not popular is because of its large size. It works great in cities to clear sidewalks, But it is to large for small city sidwalks. I love the up front concept of both machines. I am looking forward to pushing snow this season to see what it can do.

Wow, that is a really cool machine. I have a 4520N and am dreading the cold months. I'd be interested in seeing it on hills. Those slope ratings on single wheels sounds interesting.

@samstone2007 When this is parked next to my Ventrac you can really tell how big it is. 56 inches wide. I have gotten lucky the last 2 winters, But A cab is a blessing in cold windy days. If I had a hoist setup I would have got a cab for the Ventrac. This will be a fun machine to play with tho.

You should have looked in to reversabile Antonio Carraro, I have one, I love it. It would have replaced both your vintrac and the Steiner.

@@jeffgootjes8418 There are many used ones that run around. 5000-10000 euros, they are very versatile. We used to have the Supertigre. 5500 now we have a SRH9800… vineyards and olive orchards is what we do.

I’ve been looking for one of these or one of the Ventrac 3000 series. The UM with the hydraulic dump body seems even more useful than the Ventracs and the 3000’s have their own line of attachments that aren’t completely compatible with the 4000 series.

I’ve got a 3400y that I’m selling. It comes with a broom or leaf blower and a snowblower. It has a cab with heat and has 500 hours on it. $16,500. I’m in Michigan.

Thoughts on this vs Ventrac? I have had both Steiner and Ventrac but never Utilimax.

@@loganweideman541 You just cant beat A Ventrac. I do like the up front view from the Utilimax, But I have to get used to sitting on the front when you backup. I have not run it much, But I am getting used to it the more I use it. The Utilimax is a much larger maching than the 4500. I do like all the space in the cab. You do not feel crowded at all.

@tcmits3699 Machines are worth what people are willing to pay. I paid a little more than what I wanted , But you just can't find them with nice cabs. These are gaining popularity. I have been looking for a few years and when you do find them the price ranges vary. All depends on condition. Nice units are not easy to come across. Most dealers I spoke to said good luck and they had lists of people looking for them. I found 2 with cabs and the owners said they would never sell it that they loved it and the cab was really hard to find. I am not sure if I would get what I paid, But I am happy that I finally found one in great shape.

@@steiger256 They’re really hard to find with cabs. I had been looking for a while about 5 years ago and found one in Ohio without a cab. I drove about 10 hours round trip and paid around $7,000 for it with a 72” mower deck. Money well spent so far.

@@jeffgootjes8418 The one I have was for sale 3 years ago in MN. I was on vacation in WA and was wanting to look at it on way back home. It sold. When I seen the pictures the guy sent me I knew it was the same machine. I still had the screen shots. The man I got it from had been looking for one as well for some years. He made a 10 hour trip for it. These very rarely come up for sale. I think they usually sell word of mouth from people looking. Not many were made. I am very happy to have found this one.
