@ thanks for reply. I’ve got a question. Is it worth upgrading to Groove Agent 5 full version as opposed to upgrading to Cubase 14 to get the drum machine stuff in that? Bearing in mind I have reason 13 as a plugin with all that has to offer. But I like the look of groove agent and the scaled down version is really quite hobbled as a free plugin in Cubase 13. Thanks

The most insightful, thorough and practical explanations I have seen (or read) about Groove Agent. Having 'played around' with things before finding your channel I had begun to think I was doing things wrong, had not grasped things correctly. Your explanations reveal that these are the built-in contradictions and confusions in the application and how to work with them. Invaluable... much appreciated.

I really appreciate your effort. Its such a precise insight as you just are going through those options and taking away all the headache I would have out of inconsistant program-logic by simple explanations, judging etctet … I think this will get me going record guitar stuff not only to click or predesigned loops. I somehow expected to find this in Cubase but with your knowledge I can pick the parts I need, time by time. Thanks a lot!

If someone could help me understand this better that would be great. It seems that there are "Kit Styles" which preload by default when you load up a Kit, and then there are "Style Styles" which you can further load onto a pad. I am assuming the "Kit Styles" are simply meant as a starting ground for a significant possibility for variety with mixing in other "Style Styles".
@OneManAndHisSongs2 жыл бұрын
The Style is really just a bunch of presets programmed for a specific kit. If you load any style, and pick a Groove (say, "Main 3"), that will simply be the rhythm that also gets generated if you head into the instrument itself, (i.e. Edit\Agent\Style) and manually set the big dial to Main 3. So, think about it this way: EVERY pad of a loaded style is actually the ENTIRE Style, with a single, preselected group of settings applied.

May I question... Why can't see the command line at the bottom of the styles window in my acoustic kit? That with the buttons: Exclusive, Jam State, Play Mode, Trigger Mode etc...???
@OneManAndHisSongs3 жыл бұрын
It's the little cog at the top right of your main edit view - it's called "Show Pad Settings"

When I drag a pattern into a track and play it back, the midi piano roll looks right, but it plays the pattern in the track and in the Grove Agent interface but not in sync. How do you mute the interface to only hear the track?
@OneManAndHisSongs3 жыл бұрын
It's probably because you're outputting to both the Pattern channel and Instrument channel simultaneously. Getting your midi config right is pretty much essential - I discuss how I do it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqXOm3usia16fdk

@@OneManAndHisSongs Brilliant! I fixed the problem by changing the midi channel of my Cubase recording, but "unfollowing Transport" is the right way to do it. Thanks for the help!
@cc40463 жыл бұрын
@@OneManAndHisSongs hmm, I've deselect "follow transport" but still have two, misaligned drum patterns going; the one I've dragged into the track, and the pattern in Groove Agent. I'm at my wits end. Only by changimidi channels will the track play the imported beat without also triggering the agent. The documentation never mentions it. Beyond frustrating. I guess I'll be relegated to the lowly Cubase drum machine.

Hello, I don't have sound with groove agent 5, when I load the plugin I got a find missing samples window, I install all content in the default directory, if I insert a wave loop in a C1 for example I have sound, it's really weird why I don't have sound with G. A 5, any suggestion? I have checked online even on KZbin, nothing that can help..
@OneManAndHisSongs3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, that sounds like a question for Steinberg Support (or maybe the forums). I've not encountered that problem. I do ensure all of my content is in one place, though, and I presume you've been through the various options in Steinberg Library Manager to make sure they're all setup correctly?
