the bit I do use steinberg stuff I know they love making stuff more complicated that they actually should be. even installing something thru their installer you get way to many options that are more confusing then useful
@skippyweb38 минут бұрын
Perhaps mention this in the Cubase forum and/or communicate directly to Steinberg. Perhaps, Steinberg should come up with a separate central application to handle the annotation/searching and make this much more easy.

Hi Anthony, I was just watching this video to setup recording in Halion 7, but the upper row of buttons you show in your video (assuming you use the VST of Halion 7), are all missing in my VST including the side chain button. How do I make these buttons visible?
@OneManAndHisSongsСағат бұрын
I've no idea - as far as I'm aware every VST3 plugin has that top row, (side-chaining is a VST3 thing) and I'm not aware of a VST2 version of Halion 7. Sorry :(

hello! I have a specific problem that I can't solve. I must patch the inverter to the kbd cv of the filter. My problem is that arturia's voltage processor seems to be different from the original arp. I'm looking to achieve a Herbie Hancock lead synth in the song textures, in the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmjcfIdufr58hrM I received a response from the creator of the patch. At one point it says I should: 'Patch the Inverter to the Filter's KBD CV (Tracking) and drop the High.' and then he says; 'The inverter is patched to the filter CV for keyboard tracking. As the pitch gets higher, the effect of the low pass filter increases, making the sound softer. Even without patching, you can make the sound softer by lowering the filter cutoff, but the bass will become muffled, which is why we use keyboard tracking'. How would you achieve inverse keyboard tracking in arturia?
@LihuezapalloКүн бұрын
i think i solved it by sending kbd cv from the keys (x1) to the in A and then sending that to the kbd cv on the filter

Really good video. Lots of stuff I didn't despite using Cubase since 1873 or so :). But I miss one thing: a quick way to just find stuff that I've saved. Any ideas for that?

All you user defined presets are stored in your Documents\VST3 Presets folder. You could 'Add Favourite' that folder - that would do the trick

These are great tutorials of yours, thanks a TON for this! Unfortunately, Steinberg with 7.1 seem to have decided to ditch common Midi Program Change. It is working from within Cubase (as you show), but within other hosts - Gig Performer and Reaper in my case - the PC does not work with H7. As other vst3 do accept PC, it must be assumed there is some random bug or weird intentional change by Steinberg (one can even see the midi light flashing in H7, just nothing happens). Interestingly though that you deem PC to be redundant? Is that alluding to the massively increased hardware powers which allow to anyhow have everything loaded?

I must admit (sheepishly) that it is. I do everything on dedicated tracks these days, and in the rare case when I have CPU issues, freeze the tracks I'm not actively working on.

Beautiful, brave content. I'm sure this will help some people as much as your wonderful tutorials do. I don't believe I'm on the spectrum, and have enjoyed music making with other people in the past (particularly orchestras and string quartets), but my experience of "bands" has always been that they are some kind of hell. So maybe for different reasons to you, I decided to just make music on my own. I may do a bit of sending files back and forth with friends to "collaborate", but I don't intend to do it face to face. My problem is I can't sing. Not sure I fancy AIs.

Sorry but you're wrong I have small hands/fingers too But I use my thumb like King 👑 Jimi Hendrix Its actually more about positioning of the palm that gives the thumb leverage over the neck Yeah its taken time & felt the same frustration you guys may feel but it can be done Heres proof kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5OTq5yigZyrjNUsi=4o_mN0eKCCOcStLG And Ive explored thinner necks, shorter scale...and ultimately prefer 24.5" scale & make my own guitars 🎸 as in the video The thumb technique a la Jimi will give you a freedom that the conventional can not but both have their place

Great video Anthony! Lately you have been producting a lot of very practical but really useful videos about more obscure features, and it's fantastic! Pro tip for film/video game composers: did you know that you can actually create multiple cues inside one Cubase project using this? The tempo track, video track and everything else all have Track Versions! It's a really deep feature almost no one knows about just how useful it is! You can even switch cues with hotkeys, changing everything at once. Nifty huh?
