Ok first I wanna say sorry for the late post. I meant to give my thoughts days ago but stuff got in the way. You know how it is. With that said, THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL VIDEO. You are by far the first person on the internet to accurately, articulately, and clearly scale One Piece. Most people on the internet are either dismissing the context of One Piece's feats or misrepresenting it or both. And this is usually done by Naruto fans or other people who don't even read it. Seriously this video was really impressive. Whats more incredible was the fact is that you were outright downplaying and using the bare minimum and you still proved that they scale to planetary. Absolutely fantastic. Though, I'd like to add onto a point of yours just in case it comes up. - One thing I'd like to address is the Chinjao Controversy. This is a heavily debated feat, or at least it was in the past. A common argument people would give is that it didn't "look" like a continent and therefore the feat is only street level. They claim Chinjao's feat isn't impressive because he only made a small crack in the ice sheet and didn't split the whole continent(Ignoring the fact that "Crystal Ice Sheet" is just the NAME of the Continent). The problem with that is that it ignores the whole context of the story. If it were only street level then we've already seen characters in the One Piece verse do worse. So why the hell would this feat be so legendary in-universe if it were only meant to be street level or even island level? Downplaying it to that level doesn't even make sense because Chinjao in his old age, with a much weaker Drill Dragon attack destroyed part of Pica with a shockwave(Chapter 748). A feat well above island level considering he did it with a shockwave, which are millions of times weaker than a direct hit. But it's also made clear that Chinjao in his old age is drastically weaker than he used to be. If the downplayers would be believed then they'd essentially be saying that Chinjao in his old age is stronger than Chinjao in his prime. Which we know wouldn't make any sense as it directly contradicts the story. Chinjao was a continent splitter as indicated by the context of the narrative. Thats all there is to it. - The whole argument people give about "we haven't seen him destroy a planet" is my absolute most hated argument. It's so retarded. Not just for the obvious fact that no sane person would destroy the planet they're fighting on but because these people KNOW full well that a character doesn't have to destroy a planet to be planet level. NOBODY questions why Goku hasn't destroyed a planet. Nobody would dare claim that he can't either. Yet he's never done so in the entirety of Dragonball. Yet somehow the argument never comes up. Gee, I wonder why.....Could it be that a character doesnt need to blow up a planet to be planet level!? *Gasp!* -___- Gods I hate this fucking argument. It's beyond dumb. To add on to this point, people also claim the Admirals aren't island level because they didn't destroy the island they were fighting on. Which is stupid for a lot of the same reasons. Ignoring the fact that 2 Devil Fruit users whose weakness is the Ocean would never destroy the only thing keeping them out of the water, but recent Haki revelations in Wano have made it clear why destruction doesn't matter much in One Piece. In Chapter 939 pg 14, Hyogoro clear slates that Haki allows a swordsman to slice through steel but when they DO NOT want to cut something they won't even be able to break a simple piece of paper. Meaning that Haki users, through their own will, can CONTROL what they want to destroy. If they're using Haki and they don't want to destroy something it simply won't be destroyed. Period. So it makes perfect sense why the surrounding islands in One Piece often don't get destroyed because they concentrating their attacks on THEIR OPPONENT. Not the island. Which really just makes them tougher knowing that they're taking those attacks directly on their bodies. *sigh* Ok I think thats all I wanted to say. I'm glad this video exists. This is the only video around that gives people a clear idea of One Piece's strength while taking into account the FULL context. Which is something no one has ever done before. So thank you.

Exactly mate, the one reason I believe this heavy misconception exist is due to the first impression or appeal one piece and its premise gives. I was a biggest naruto fanboy 2 years ago, whenever I saw one piece being in discussion or being powerscaled with the little knowledge I had, one piece seemed silly. Like seriously, on one hand we had ninjas with chakra ability to create matter(which was was chakra disguised) on other we had pirates... and mc is rubber. This creates many people to downplay one piece horrendously then they without knowledge comment and powerscale on it which gets seen by non op watchers leading to this entire mess. One horrendous take that got 2k likes was "Oh I always know who to support when you put ninja vs a mere pirate lol"... even better one guy had posted a pic of random anbu vs Zoro (his entire point being "oh naruto scales much higher so I thought this was fair...) like I am not even go over how stupid this was yet I have to say at those times I fell for them. However the moment I watched one piece and saw straight up FTE feats within first 50 episodes..!! Syrup village kuro. Man I was convinced I have been lied to lol. Then logia's came a literal embodiment of elements and one guy is freaking fundamental force of nature!??!? Like what in the holy jesus. Wish many just watched both sources before judging man...

I love how Steinixos differentiates attack potency with destructive capabilities. I especially love how Steinixos downplays One Piece power so much in this video alone as a sign of good faith that he isn't trying to be biased towards One Piece. The amount of concessions he had to make is insane. I also love how Oda shows that attacks can be continental or multi-continental in raw potency without having to explicitly show that attack destroy continents. If anything I prefer how One Piece displays power since almost all attacks are concentrated and focused. There's a sort of artistry and elegance to being able to annihilate someone without having to nuke an island or continent in the process.

Brilliant video. Gonna add onto the discussion about Whitebeard. People often underrate Whitebeard and lowball him to island level by saying he "only split an island" and then they act like thats the pinnacle of feats we'll ever see in the One Piece verse because it was "the best WB could do". The thing people keep missing is that, whats significant about this feat IS NOT "what" he split or "how" big the split was. It's how the feat was preformed. The epicenter of the Quake was Akainu. He split the island indirectly. Thats whats key here. The island breaking in half was just a side-effect of him hitting Akainu. It's just the shockwave, which naturally is going to be millions of times weaker than the actual source of the blow. Not to mention it was a controlled attack. He purposefully minimized the damage so that it would only split the island. His aim was to separate his crew from the Marines so they could get away. All that while he was weakened and on the brink of death from losing half his literal skull. It was nowhere near the limit of what he's capable of. I'm getting SO tired of people completely leaving out the context when it comes to One Piece feats.

Old whitebeard has a far stronger feat than indirectly splitting an island. He managed to tilt not only a large island such as marineford but also tilted the sea around it as an indirect result of his attack. This was while on life support, had multiple gun shots a sword wound and a hole in his body and was severely aged and way WAY out of his prime.

How I like to explain what you mentioned in the beginning is that feathers weighing 1 kilogram may seem bigger than a piece of metal weighing 1 kilogram but they have the same weight after all but the metal is just denser, similar to big AOE attacks and concentrated attack, AOE attacks are bigger but aren’t stronger than concentrated attacks since concentrated attacks have denser power.

I saw Sengoku stating that whitebeard can destroy the world as him destroying the earth's crust, and all life that lives on top of it. i think his saying the world rather than planet makes the connotation a little vague, and reasonable for people to confuse his statement as exaggerative. though either way world can mean the planet itself, but usually when people us that word I believe they mean that it destroys all life or humanity,, but it is the same effect. ye but old whitebeard was not planet even though he was multi continental so its safe to assume the statement is true as a whitebeard with no haki was this level and conquerors haki has destructive power of its own so we can definitely say he's planetary. He could combine his devil fruit with it creating planet level attacks. Also take into account with the fruit alone prime whitebeard would be stronger with just that than old whitebeard was and that's without haki. armament haki s well can buff attacks and he could not use this at marine ford because of his sage of and disease . prime whitebeard with a non serious clash with roger literally almost destroyed an island and he never used his fruit. Prime whitebeard with Armament and conquerors and stronger with devil fruit alone would definitely be planetary. The statement is true i don't care what anyone says. Also there is no reason for it to be an exaggeration when the marines are literally away to face him and it would scare his men. Whitebeard is planetary period.

Really great content for an over view, I look forward to further in depth scaling! The only thing I might contest is your interpretation for CP9’s power levels and the multiplier you put to Lucci’s hybrid form. Best I could calculate from his ability to blitz Blueno, Luffy’s gear 2 would have a little over 4x the speed he has in base, and given Lucci being roughly comparable to Luffy I think this would apply to his Zoan form as well. As for the planetary scaling, there’s actually a neat bit in Alabasta that can give a reasonable estimate for the planets size. Vivi says that the Sandora River is about 50km wide; not only does this make Alabasta itself comparable to real world continents from pixel scaling the island in an overhead shot, but on several occasions the characters and the reader can see the other side of the river, meaning the horizon distance at sea level is about 50 km as well. Having already done the math with the horizon distance and Vivi’s height, the One Piece planet would have a radius of 739,644.97 km, a volume of 1,690,000,000,000,000,000 km^3, and assuming a gravitational acceleration of 9.8m/s^2 like Earth it would have a mass of 8.0348468065428E+28 kg. The only hole I could see with this is the fact that atmospheric refraction is a thing, that in spite of out horizon only being about 5km it’s possible to see objects past the horizon from light being refracted through the air. Even then this is only possible through precise weather conditions that I don’t know if Alabasta’s climate is comparable to, and even in instances of atmospheric refraction on earth you can only really see the top of distant objects, whereas with the Sandora you’re not only seeing the hill tops on the other side of the river but also the river bank itself. If this scaling does hold up, and assuming that Whitebeard could cause anything from a magnitude 4 to a magnitude 9.5 aftershock on the other side of the planet, then his power would range anywhere from 147 petatons to 26 yottatons of tnt, at least going by vs battle wiki’s formula for quakes.

You've clearly never seen multipliers from DB, Bleach or Naruto. Goku grew millions of times stronger after a couple of fights with Jiren. Tell you what, armament haki is in fact a 150x multiplier in base. This is quantified using the basic haki feats of the Kuja girl that shot arrows at Luffy. A normal arrow, shot at full speed would shatter on impact with rocks, her haki arrows blew rocks to bits making it at least 150x stronger than a normal arrow made out of wood. Why do you think Vergo could clash swords with a bamboo stick for example, Or how Sanji can block bullets with his legs when saving Toko in Wano? His skin itself was enhanced to be able to literally deflect bullets, imagine the calc for that (how thick of a skin you need to make bullets useless). So if, a character can punch a mountain away with a single punch without using haki, then the same feat with haki would have a 150x more attack potency. That's how crazy One Piece multipliers work, we just usually don't go out of our way to consider the multiplier for haki because most people don't even remember how basic haki was introduced in the series. So the pills thing isn't even that crazy, which was why Luffy could defeat him without gear 4th, his haki multiplier was even higher than Hoardy's pills. Remember how Doflamingo who could casually split a meteor in half couldn't pierce gear 4th Luffy because his elasticity had increased to a point where Doffy's strings didn't have the pressure required to pierce him. All he did was use full body haki on top of his expanded rubber muscles making it more dense, yet more malleable and flexible. Even if you say gear 4th is a 20x multiplier, then 150x of that would be a 3000x multiplier and his stronger attacks in that form is even MORE amplified. So haki is a crazy multiplier, the pills don't even come close.

Lol, I watched all of Naruto YEARS before I even gave One Piece a chance. It made me laugh that within the first one minute and forty seconds, I'm already giving a side eye to some of these Naruto fans I've seen on forums talking about the data books. I look at the source material to tell me what a person can do, because actions speak louder than words. It's the same reason most One Piece fans always talk about feats and just look at data books quotes on strength as just something interesting to read. Obviously, there are some that will still try to use those data books, but we laugh at them too. Those are for hype and advertising.

Don’t all physical attacks have some shockwave to them? You can’t hit something without the shockwave of the force being carried into said object no matter what. Even projectiles and moving causes shockwaves. So technically ever attack actually does damage luffy but the part that hits him is somewhat lessened.

Great scaling. Even though I won't agree to planetary yet still Great points yet. I would say my problem with scaling is I feel there are two different ways to look at it. Actual stacking like you used and in story/narrative scaling. I feel the latter is what I mainly look at but I feel the former is needed especially for vs battles. Also as we know one piece is more plot based and Oda has even shown a good amount of times on how he would utilize plot for things to happen even if it doesn't make sense power scaling wise. Yeah saying that planet surface feats are definitively planetary is wrong, the planet surface is nothing to the actual entire planet even if you think the One Piece world is bigger than ours. Obviously when taking about "no where on the planet to run from Whitebeard" or "Having the power to destroy the world" I doubt they wouldn't just be talking about the planet surface where people actually live instead of the mantle down the core of the planet. Yelling and making an island and the ocean around it shake is impressive but the difference between the planet surface and the entire planet makes that irrelevant if you wanna say he's planetary.

Why would Sengoku intentionally exaggerate Whitebeard's power and potentially scare his men if Whitebeard was not that strong? It wouldn't help the Marine fodder do any better against Whitebeard. The pills actually don't need diminishing returns though, the could simply be additive at a certain point. So say, the first does indeed multiply your power, but each subsequent pill adds to that multiplier, so instead of going from 4 times stronger to 16 times stronger, you just add on another 4, so it becomes 8, then the next pill would Mae it 12, and so on.

To answer your question, Sengoku was referring to a whitebeard before he was sick. As in, just a regular old man with no health problems like garp, rayleigh and himself, could destroy the world. But to address your "we haven't seen it tho" arguement it is severely flawed. What you don't seem to understand about one piece characters is that they are like dragon ball characters. Not in the sense that they are as strong as them, but they can control their power. In dragon ball, characters have been planetary since the saiyan saga but not every fight we see destroys the planet. Why is that? It's simple they control their energy so that it doesn't make the planet explode. In one piece whitebeard's quakes are the exact same. They won't break the planet because whitebeard ISN'T TRYING TO BREAK THE PLANET. The reason he is multicontinental is because he is easily above a mid tier like Sai. Sai like his father don chinjao, csn break a continent, and no it's not "just ice". This ice has been stated to be far above normal ice, No pirate could break through it with, life tools or anything, it's far stronger than any ice normally made and is just as as other land masses which is what makes breaking it a feat. So we know Chigao's head is a continental level in attack potency and then because we know Sai is much stronger than him and Whitebeard is FAR and away stronger than him despite being a sick old man, makes him at LEAST multi-continental not factoring in advanced anything haki related. Doflamingo, with his strings is even stronger than this don chingao, and katakuri and people like him are leagues stronger than doflamingo. @@euwee8701 he didn't use his fruit because the shockwaves his fruit creates can't be infused with haki only devil fruits with material particles not energy particles can be infused with haki for example ace cannot coat his fire with armament haki nor can sabo, but akainu can coat his magma with armament haki that is ultimately why akainu's fruit is better not because it's hotter than fire but because he can coat it with haki (fire is waaaaay hotter than magma trust search it up if you don't believe me.) Also whitebeard isn't multicontinental he can affect the sea's with his fruit yes but he isn't obliterating multiple continents if I was to infer I'd say whitebeard at full power might be able to destroy 35% of greenland which is the largest island in the world. it will affect the sea's without a doubt (if you have haki u can just stop the shockwaves from going that far it doesn't even matter if your haki is waaaay weaker than whitebeards since he can't coat the shockwaves with haki ) so whitebeard will affect the sea change the tides cause minor or major tsunami's here and there based on the nature of his fruit, but he isn't planetary he's just harming a bunch of people in different places without even needing to be near those places that are getting effected.

Going to have to disagree with you on something. There is no One Piece character that is simply "planetary". Not even Whitebeard. Yes. Whitebeard could theoretically "destroy the world". The power to generate earthquakes on a planet that's like 90% water would definitely be a global threat However Wiping out the inhabitants of the world through earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods won't break the literal planet. Also Whitebeard doesn't have a singular attack that can effect the entire planet at once. Destroying the world would be an "over time" venture. And even then he'd simply be destroying the world as humanity knows it, not obliterating the literal planet.

I've explain in KZbin threads already that I do believe whitebeard is a continental and global threat. He is a threat to the world. Sengoku's statement has truth to it, but being a threat to the world isn't the same as being a "planet buster". PLEASE READ MY EXPLANATION. For example in real life if Nuclear war broke out it would destroy the world (as we know it). Billions of people would die and the world as we know it would be destroyed (changed to a point of no return to what it once was). Whitebeard could accomplish this over time especially on a planet with so much water given he can casually generate massive sea quakes. However He will not take out a single continent or multiple with one punch. You try to claim that even oldbeard could when age didn't effect his df powers, it effected his haki.
