10:23 For me, this is the saddest moment in the show. It's the culmination of everything he's been through up to that point, what he and the others have sacrificed to make happen. He lived his fantasy of being a mad scientist and defeating a shadowy organization. But it cost him too much. And to keep himself from breaking, he tries using his Hououin Kyouma persona as a cover. Everyone has always known it was an act, but Mayuri's, "You can cry now if you want" and her awareness makes it so much more poignant. But it's not over yet...

Mayuri knows Okabe does the mad scientist bit as a way to deflect issues, like when he did to to make her not give up living when her Grandmother died but here it’s clear despite putting up the act again Okabe is really hurting so Mayuri gives him permission to drop the act, that he doesn’t have to worry about her anymore and he can be honest with himself. That’s what she meant when she said the bad things weren’t going to happen to her anymore.

Ifk......she has talked about her dreams of dying before. Other people, at least those closest to Okabe, may have some sort of Reading Steiner. Mayuri is such a simple, open girl, she always just says what comes to her. She might not even know what she means.

I know you guys finished the series already but just to clear up a couple things: Okabe started the Kyouma act specifically to help Mayuri deal with her depression about her grandmother's death. She is merely telling him that she is ok now and doesn't need him to protect her emotionally anymore because even though she doesn't know about all the things he has been through she can see how worn out and emotionally strained he is in that moment and instead of him always caring for her she is caring for him for a change. And secondly, the amane who called just then is not from the same future that the other amane is. In this future amane's father did not die, thus she knows who he is. And she knew the entire lab crew (Mayuri included) in both major worldliness (alpha and beta) so it isn't weird that she asks for Okabe by name.

Idk if you have already started watching or plan on watching it, but you should really watch Steins; Gate 0 and the movie to get a clear picture of everything, there is so much that still remains unanswered after this one ends.

I think this dub is very very good however something about this scene just doesnt have the same weight as the sub, it is one of my favorite moments in the entire anime.

Actually, this masterpiece has different way to watch, and it has OVA and 0(second season), plus the 23 episode has two types. Different ends depend on what way you choose. If you re interesting, you can google it, a lot of people discuss the order that how you watch. But I watched this in order first time, watched the other way in the second time, watched this for understand in the third time, watched for fun in the fourth time. IT IS WORTH IT !!! Btw, Kurisu said ''sayonara'' in the front of station after she threw the soda. This is a fantastic ep by many moments in this ep. Glad you guys react this!

Mayuri's comment to Okabe once he jumps to the other timeline feels a little weird and clunky in the dub. In the Japanese version Mayuri says something with a similar sentiment, but she tells him he doesn't need to talk anymore as that mad scientist character and that she's okay now, it's suppose to be vague enough that she could be referring to their gimmick of her being his hostage but that she might also be subconsciously aware of the fact she won't die now. But the dub version saying "The bad stuff isn't going to happen to me now" is like removing all the subtly and just making it sound as though she knows for certain what is going on, which is weird, I don't know why they did that. I think the voice acting in the dub is fine enough, but I feel some of the dialogue choices during localization were a little odd overall.
