Einfach unglaublich! Dafür is wahrlich nicht jeder geschaffen...

I visited this workshop more than 30 years ago with our chemistry class. The only that notably changed is, that I didn't see a single bottle of beer. When we were there, they told us that every worker drinks 5-7 bottles (0.5 L) of beer during an 8 hour shift. It was a low alcohol (3.5%) beer from a local brewery and needed to be provided by the company as part of the collective agreement. Do I need to say that it's located in Bavaria?

Big Ben is the name of the largest bell in the tower, it is not the name of the clock - which is known as the Tower Clock.

It was called St Stevens Tower.

I didn't know it still was done as it stands in the _Ecyclopédie_ who knows the other method building a large disc from the bottom of a bottle may still be used

The UV from the sun would kill the plexiglass within 20 years.

Did you ever see how Plexiglass headlights look after only 15 - 20 years of permanent outdoor exposure?

You'd think the Brits wouldn't want German glass in their clock...
@kevinbaird72772 жыл бұрын
Not at all, we have many nationalities working on the refurbishment of BB, where the glass comes from is irrelevant, Germany, South Korea or even Wales, as long as it is the best quality and looks good, these artisans accomplish great work and it is a sign of out friendship with so many nations that we use this glass and other materials sourced worldwide on our most prominent clock here in the UK.
