They were. U don’t lose the type of love. The chemistry they also have had, the intimacy between them, it’s always been there and always gonna be. Especially during the ending u can see the love in their eyes. They didn’t have to express their love bc they already knew the answers for each other. She may have loved Damon but everything Elena has been through with Stefan, doesn’t compare. Their love was true, they were soulmates. They knew they loved each other, they never stopped.

I know the creators of the show wanted Stefan and Elena to be the end game but changed it when Nina left after season 6. However, I think they could have managed it. Why not put her consciousness in another body to continue the triangle and get back with Stefan and in the last ep when Nina was able to come back, have her wake up and be with Stefan in her own body? They are soul mates dammit. The idea of Stefan loving Caroline forever (great friends but no chemistry between then) was just wrong. Damon and Elena had chemistry but she and Stefan were meant to be. Sucks that scheduling took away their happy ending.

I think that as long as Julie was part of TVD she wouldn’t let Stelena be a thing again no matter if they said that Stelena would be endgame. I hate this woman with a passion. She ruined everything. The show went downhill when Kevin left. They screwed up every single character!! They either killed them off or ruined their whole lives, arcs and plots. We could only hear Delena Delena🙄 and Delena was the only couple with a happy ending meanwhile everyone else lost everyone and everything. Everyone had to sacrifice themselves *cough Bonnie cough* and if they didn’t they were threatened. IMO Stelena always had more chemistry. Even in the finale, there was 10 times more chemistry between Elena and Stefan than with Damon and Elena. Ian didn't even kiss Nina -- he kissed her chin and she kissed above his lips. If Ian wouldn't kiss Nina because she's his ex and he's married now, then he needs to quit acting. How many times did Paul kiss Nina and Nina kiss Paul in the series while Nina was dating Ian and Paul was dating/married to Torrey. They were professional. Not only that, their chemistry was off the charts and they truly looked in love onscreen. I was never a Delena fan. I loved Ian as the bad Damon. And when Ian botched up the happily-ever-after Delena ending, not only did I laugh, but I lost all respect for Ian as an actor.

She wouldn't have been where she is today if she hadn't met him he clearly saved her life he did so many things for her all because he loves her And of course he will always will love ❤️ her, in the beginning he couldn't let go of her, but with time she became one ☝️ of his closest friends ever and that's why he could not stopped loving her, never not ones after all dark,happy moments they had he stills loves her through it all 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️ This Is why I love Elena so much she so honest to Stefan how she really feels she always is that, when it comes to Stefan ever sense she met him she has always been safe, he is the one who knows her best so very good 😊 and she will always be his first love and first real friend forever and always will be that. She is the one who brought him back to life she changed his life, It was good he got to know her they changed each other's life's together. Even after all he has done even when they were not together anymore she still love him for who he is, Even when he pushed her away she still kept fighting for him and when she felt she haven't no one left he was always there to help and protect her he never stopped loving her or protected her, In the end they both knew they were not meant to be but they could never erase their memories for each other I'm glad they got to say goodbye two times the first time was sad but the last were saddest

This is beyond beautiful. Stefan and Elena should have stayed together and should have been endgame. They were THE couple in The Vampire Diaries. To me, they were the only thing that made the show worth watching. When they broke up in season 4, though, I couldn’t watch the show any further. The creators RUINED it starting with season 4. Here are a few things that ruined the show. 1. Stefan and Elena break up. 2. Damon and Elena become a couple. 3. Stefan and Caroline fall in love, get engaged, and then married. 4. Stefan dies. What the heck were the creators thinking? The only reason Damon and Elena became a couple, by the way, is the actors who played them dated in real life. I mean, what is up with that. They should have kept it like the book series. Just saying.

Eristine Forever everything you said is true! I stopped watching after season 4 as well. At first I loved delena but always had a soft spot for Stefan. Than my opinion changed when I rewatched the show and realized that really all delena had was a lustful/toxic relationship. While Stefan and Elena had a pure/selfless relationship. Smh, they were the true couple of this show. Julie plec ruined this show, by giving into fans. I absolutely hated Caroline and stefan together. I never was really a fan of Caroline to begin with, but fell in love with her relationship with Tyler. Of course they broke up because of klaus. Than she moves onto Stefan to only end up with klaus!? To me that ending for Stefan, who was always selfless for everyone, was absolutely disgraceful.

Cassi Partipilo stefan and Elena were and are the best couple in the series. Other couples I love in the series are Klaus and Caroline (should have been together), Enzo and Bonnie, Jeremy and Anna, Alaric and Jenna, Matt and Rebekka, and Damon and Katherine ( even though I hate Damon and Katherine completely, I honestly love seeing them together and wish they were a couple).I can’t think of any other couples though. If you know of any others, please, help me out by writing them down.

But after season 7, I rewatched the entire show, along with all these KZbin videos, and I realized that Stelena was definitely the better relationship, and fell in love with them. Damon should have died, not Stefan, and Steroline should have stayed friends. Stelena should have been endgame,

I know this show was over years now but honestly I had to comment this because until this day I can't get over it the writer messed up the best ship of a lifetime stelena was perfect wrong they were passionate and real so they made things seemed perfect they were there for each other and the relationship wasn't about sex I really don't understand how people normalize toxic relationships these days🤦‍♀️I watch this show in 2017 when I was in grade 8 and even back then I shipped stelena and as I grew older I realized why I ship them even more I've been in a toxic relationship and it drained me you could definitely see that elena wasn't happy and it's all about sex and girls say they want this omg y'all must be dumb then they wonder why guys use them because y'all don't want this you people want the bad boy honestly it was better if they made elena stay dead in the ending of season 3 this show is normalizing toxicity🚮
