Just to clarify one more thing about the intro scene: stefan told elena about killing enzo but didn’t say a word to damon or caroline. Why? Because elena’s opinion didn’t matter to him(as it used to be when he was in love with her)the way damon’s and caroline’s did in the later seasons. Stefan held damon and caroline in such high regard that he couldn’t bring himself to tell them the truth - even though he *didn't actually kill enzo.* He could have easily explained what happened, especially to caroline, but he chose not to. Not telling damon might hint at some closeness with enzo, but Caroline? Her opinion had started to mean a lot to him as their dynamic evolved. Plus, remember when amnesia-stefan commented on caroline’s attractiveness? Unlike usual stefan, amnesia-stefan was bold, aware, and willing to explore what he deserved. If I missed any other points, let me know - I poured everything into this video and might’ve overlooked some subtle details, but I think I did highlight essential things.

In season 5, stefan was still trying to move on from elena and if elena's opinion really meant something to him, then he wouldn’t get mad at her in season 6 every time she didn’t try to understand caroline’s side of the story. I based this on the steroline scenes and dynamics. Of course, he always loved elena but that love stopped being romantic the moment he accepted delena and acknowledged her happiness with damon. I understand that you’re a stelena but please respect steroline too. Caroline wasn’t just a random girl in stefan's life; their connection has been loud and significant since season 1. Just because their relationship evolved into something that some people don’t like doesn’t mean their things for each other never existed in the first place.

I think they have always have this "above friendship below lovers" kinda thing. They could always easily become lovers and if not, life long besties, like Stefan and Lexi. I think Stefan viewed Lexi as his savior, someone who helped him greatly, he was so grateful that his feelings for her is beyond romantic. Caroline is a little like Lexi, so Stefan quickly became quite fond of her. With the things they went through, his feelings for her is gradually building. People think that delena is awesome but delena is toxic af. Steroline is like a breath of fresh air. Just because stefan loved Elena first doesn't means Care nd his love wasn't true. With Elena, he was always so scared, brooding and careful buy with Care , he was himself. He literally kidnapped Caroline to save her when she was too stubborn to leave nd angry with stefan. Bonnie had that Raina's hunter thing and she was following them. He never would have done that with Elena because he never let himself go with Elena as she always kept dodging between him nd Damon. Even with Klaus in the Pic, he knew Caroline would always choose him. He was obviously confused about his feelings. Care was his nest friend, u can't just go and sleep with ur hest friend, she meant a lot to him. The fact that even when he had no memory, he trusted Caroline.
