Phineas Newborn fue un pianista extraordinario que no ha tenido el reconocimiento que se merece. Tenía una técnica exquisita y su capacdad creativa, no tenia límites. Esta es una grandiosa versión de Stella by Starlight, con una introducción soberbia. Este disco, junto al contrabajista Ray Brown y al baterista Elvin Jones, es una "clase magistral" de estos tres baluartes del jazz. Un álbum que no debe faltar en ninguna discoteca.
