Amazing song. Amazing musicians. Valerie Carter amazing at another level. JB thanks for an incredible piece of music in honor of an amazing singer who touched so many. Saw you live in 1979 and still the best concert I’ve ever seen.

I didn't know this song was about Valerie Carter. Cool little intro, and of course, Sara and Sean Watkins are excellent.

Just about everything he's done has reminded me of a lady I was involved with in SoCal in the very late 60's and early 70's. She played acoustic guitar magnificently, folk and flamenco. She said she knew Jackson Browne and his material. She died at age 30 in May 1979 after a fall at Anza Borrego.

Such a wonderfully scaled back performance! Very skilled in a coffeehouse sort of way! Looks like it was an outstanding show!

The lead-in story about deceased roadie friend was a classic

I want to thank Stellablu477 for uploading so much footage from this concert. Both this concert and the one in Winnipeg a few nights later seem to have caught JB at his best. The heart of his artistry lies, for me, in the songs that he writes--particularly in the lyrics and the feeling and insight that he is able to get into them. I think that when he plays with a full electric band the accompaniment gets in the songs' way a bit. Here I think Sara and Sean Watkins do a wonderful job of accompanying him--they're in sync with what he's trying to accomplish and their accompaniment enhances what he's doing. They do just enough--not too much.
