Stellar Blade | The Game That Gamers Deserved

Stellar Blade is by far my GoTY for 2024, imo. It trumps over Rebirth and Relink, imo. Hell, it's now in one of my top favourite games of all time (Not #1, but it's up there). And you described it just as I did, basically a "no fucks given, straight-up, action fun". Gamers first. Yanno, back when that was the focus of the golden age of gaming; being fun. Not filled with modern snowflake delusional ideology & propaganda, nor any microtransactions and FREE DLC? I've gone through SB 6 times, and probably more to come in the future. Oh, and it's shit that this even needs to be said; but it's one of the most polished & smooth running games to come out in recent memory, completely obliterating the majority of modern AAA titles in quality.

I'm kinda opposite with the characters. I liked both Eve and Adam, but Lily although cool not my favorite I was more interested in backstory of Adam and Eve’s journey. After playing 3 times I can understand why Adam seems a bit depress.I felt him having the same energy as Lily would be weird once you unwind more of the story. Also as a big fan of FF7 imo I believe Stellar blade soundtrack is a bit better. Even when I'm not playing the game I Blast SB music 😊

That’s fair, but I don mean I have an issue with the sadness they feel, I don’t like how they only ever display that sadness throughout the entire game. Like even as Eve is experiencing things that make her happy, she just kinda keeps that tone thought out the gane, does that make sense? Also I CANT BLAME YOU DAWG!! SB music slaps hard, but FF7 rebirth soundtrack just impressed the hell outof me. It has like 3-4 versions of the same song, and each song has a different feeling ! I love if 👌🏾❤️

I agree I don’t recall Eve being Happy or anything besides, sad or angry, and if a situation calls for her to be happy she doesn’t express it very well or clearly. The same for Adam, but I still think with him it’s justified base on what he’s been through. l just assume it was hard for him to be genuinely happy. Just my viewpoint tho, and it becomes more clear to me my second play-through, as I pay more close attention to him. But yeah probably with Eve if a sequel comes she’s a bit more than sad and angry now that situations changed. Yeah the variations of FF7 soundtrack is great. And I hope it wins many awards. It’s just I think while FF7 music is a masterpiece, SB music was so good that even when fighting hard bosses where I would normally quit the game, the music made me keep going and retrying, because I was just bumping to the music. I’m actually very surprised a beat the game on normal mode. The power of music I guess 😂

I hate that the controls are a little "floaty". When you jump or direct the character in a specific direction, Eve tends to overshoot her landing, or goes in a direction you don't want her to go in. And sometimes that can mean the difference between life and death.

a lot of people got invested up to insult the game it's dev and players who like it that they forgot that the game isn't just have hot characters it's also a pretty fun and solid game ,it might not reinventing the wheel doesn't mean it's bad a good game can be that without doing it, I honestly agree with people who stood up against censorship, it kills art and especially for 18+ game it's unnecessary p.s- I actually like enemy designs more than the machines in automata , good video btw

100% agreed man, if you don’t like some aspects of the game, either don’t play it or give the player the choice to turn it off or not, but don’t just take it away. That’s lazy and sleazy. But yes, stellar blade has ALOT MROE TO OFFER than a sexy lady (though she doesn’t hurt it either). Finally, thanks man, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🔥👌🏾

Democrawler was the Ludwig of SB for me god dayam, OST aside, sound design is the sexiest part of this game, parrying never gets old fr. Definite 9/10 and for their first time it's surprising af, i was surprised by Mundfish and now Shift Up, gives us more DLC or idk SOMETHING more to make me spend more money idc

Marc Baril did some BRILLIANT tracks for that game and if y'all interested, check out some tracks from Mind Over Mutant, then search for "Atomic Heart Orbits". I CANNOT be the only one that notices similarities when Orbits reaches the final half. I was just vibing with the parkour segment of that DLC and out of nowhere my mind was KIDNAPPED and brought back to 2008, the synth in AH is magical and the metal goes hard af

Wukong just can't compete. Too many invisible walls, less interesting characters than SB, not enough combos, and the soundtrack is good but not SB good.

I wouldn't say that the story is disappointing. It's simple and is supported by the lore and exploration but it's not bad or disappointing imo. Plus, you get two and a half ending that each bring some new elements to the lore. It makes you think, use your imagination and want to learn more about it which is refreshing considering that most of the games we get nowadays are, as you said plagued by that need to tell a complete tragic Odyssey or whatever. That leaves us with games that tell you everything and do everything for you since the gameplay is often lacking and holds your hand all along.

Yes that’s fair! But that’s not the reason why I don’t like the story. In fact it’s the lore and backstory that is the best part of said story. Not to mention the side characters. My issue is that the main characters don’t get very interesting until the very end of the game, and I think the VA plays a part in that as well, but since I didn’t care about the main characters, I didn’t really care for the games story itself. At least the main line objective story put in front of me, y’know?

Honestly my only issue with the lore is the hanging threat with the cradle lore, there was a whole bunch of item descriptions, npc dialogue and sidequests that discuss people being forced into the cradle in Xion and Orcal being corrupt with some good evidence towards it, but this never went anywhere and was dropped in the final act of the story.

I'm sure plenty of people have certain characters they want to learn more about in a DLC or a sequel, including Tachy, Raven, Enya or Kaya. Personally, I am really interested in Orcal. The twist about him that was revealed after the boss fight with Raven's Naytiba form was really interesting. I want a prequel. Also, if you're looking for another pro-gamer game, I highly suggest Xenoblade Chronicles 2, if you haven't played it already.

Like I keep saying, we need to make Stellar Blade win game of the year (GOTY) Why? The add attractive looking character in the game, something that western developers refuse to do. This game has been receiving knockback by people that don`t like the game coz of the way Eve looks (which is bloody stupid) but despite that the game has been successful. Kim Hung Tae has done an amazing job with this game, him and the team has put so much effort into the game like the lip sick between the English and the Korean version are completely different. And remember, they didn`t have to do this. They have been giving out free DLCs. They have given us over 30 outfits, what other game does that? The fact they made a hack & slash game in my eyes (which has been in the decline for some years now) is amazing. This if their first time making a console game and for the most part it`s a success. They didn`t just make a boring souls-like, they mixed it up with hack & slash elements, bringing people they like those genres to their game which was very smart of them. For the most part, they listen to want the fans want/ask for. I know people want to choose final fantasy or dragon`s dogma to win GOTY however if one of those games win, nothing will change and no statement will be made. We need to make a statement to developers that what Shift Up are doing is what we want in videogames. Now if you like the other two game but don`t like Stellar blade that`s understandable however if you like those game and Stellar Blade I ask you to choose Stellar Blade for GOTY. If you want game developers to buck up their ideas Stellar Blade needs to win it. Free DLC Fun gameplay Not scared to have attractive women in their game. Attention to detail Hack & Slash combat I didn`t mention Bay because Bay is popular but these game aren`t getting the spotlight they deserve. Just one example Soulstice takes inspiration from the anime Claymore and Berserk both sick anime and it`s a sick game that I don`t think is getting the attention it should get. Hack & Slash game have been in the decline for some years but now more are being made which is great to see. I hope there is some on the list that you like.
