Two things I thought about. Why would you be able to instantly know the strength of a new civ on the diplomacy screen without ever seeing them? The same goes for seeing the numerical strength of a fleet without knowing the makeup of the ships themselves. Or is that number just an estimation based on your class of scanners?
@SDM-Zone8 жыл бұрын
+bla moep I suppose you could justify it by a space Geneva convention where everyone has to declare their weapons before fighting to potentially stop genocidal annihilation from occurring at the same frequency.
@rugar858 жыл бұрын
Maybe they could work that in as an option for you to be able to chose to do, but it shouldn't be apparent right off the bat. The power of the ships should be a question mark until you can research the techs on a destroyed ship. But even then, you wouldn't know if all ships had the same techs.
@ParadoxExtra8 жыл бұрын
+bla moep You don't know, it's an estimate based on the information you have available. -cKnoor
@rugar858 жыл бұрын
+ParadoxExtra that's for the fleet strength information or the fleet information in the diplomacy screen? If that counts for the fleet, the fleet strength in the diplomacy screen should be unknown until you actually get to see some of their ship right? thanks for taking the time to answer this. I'm stoked for the release nonetheless :D

I like that thought. Maybe as a trait even, kind of like the darlok in moo where ships were invisible unless they were close to your homeworlds
@vladimirkrishtal14028 жыл бұрын
They should have limits to how many ships can be in a fleet, like in Endless Space. You shouldnt be able to park your whole fleet into one system. An attrition effect should kick in if a sector cannot provide resources to a fleet too big.

I don't want to sound like a pedantic nitpicker, but I think that the "Impact Crater" event should have a minor correction. It says that "as the ship was disintegrated there is no way to confirm the *theory*" I think it'd be nice to change the text so that it reads hypothesis instead of theory. I know this sounds like nitpicking, but this is a very common mistake people outside the scientific community make. Changing this small detail may help, even if just an iffy-bitty bit, to change this generalised misconception. And, while it may not seem much, it's the little things that count after all. :) My sincere congratulations to the Stellaris team! Gonna make my preorder and I can't wait for May 9! :D

Are technology chances weighted? For example are you more likely to see weapons and armor in your choices if you are at war? practically it makes sense, using the cold war as an example, both sides raced to gain a superior edge in tech, something i feel would exist no matter the timeframe.

Will you be able to change/adapt your civ's traits in game? So if you started off as fanatical imperialists, but then wanted to move towards being peaceful traders, are there research options or leader bonuses that would allow this? If a rebel faction arose within the government, could you back them in the hope that they can make lasting change?
@Supernaturality8 жыл бұрын
+ts25679 Factions can try and change your race's politics, or at least, that's what the Stellaris official wiki says. If you have some pops who've diverged from your ethics and get dissatisfied enough to begin a movement, you can have a government change- but I don't think there's any way of changing your ethics besides that.

After watching this let's play, I have one reason to give why I'm not pre-ordering this: The Galaxy map is quite boring. I'm not saying it's bad, or that the game's bad. It isn't. There's just not really a lot of uniqueness in different areas of the map. There might be different planets, but there are no real interesting regions, like there might be on a map of a planet. I'm sure I'll eventually get Stellaris when it goes on sale sometime, but until there's something a bit more exciting about it, it's just a sort of okay grand strategy game. Not terrible, probably good, but not something that captures my immediate attention. I do like the customizable/random race aspect, but I don't really get the feeling there's a whole lot going on in this game that'd give it good variance in the long term. Probably fixable, as it's obviously got a good foundation, but again, it's not really exciting right now. It lacks a good hook that sets it apart from Endless Space, which is another game I bought and discovered to be meh.

Ok. Gonna give you a Bigger Bunch of Questions. (Especially because I.ll likely be on Work while your Streaming and thus might not be able to Watch the Stream. And Ask you in Stream Chat.) 1. Could you do a Mouse Over on the Stuff above especially the Caps and so on. So we actually see which Cap is on what. And what it says. (Including maybe an small explanation as to how to increase this cap and so on ?) 2. The Sectors your doing. Would you mind explaining these a bit more ? Can you actually make an Neutral Setting for them so they dont Focus on something. (Especially because I like to Exploit Ressources available and would be fairly annoyed if I have to sector stuff to the AI which then starts to Build Over Tiles to Focus on something thus skipping out on another ressource that would likely be producing way more stuff) Is there a Setting how you can tell the Sectors to max out the Ressources on the Tiles rather than to try focusing on a certain energy. Like hey if that Tile has like 2 Energy you should not just Plant a Mine over it cause your on Mineral Focus. But you should actually set a Powerplant there. Even if you got quite a bit of Energy Surplus. 3. How big is the Biggest Map Setting in Comparance to the one your Playing right now :) So like Double the Size or something ? :) 4. The Happiness of Planets. If a Planet has lets say 60% Max Happiness. Does that mean the Planets Pops will basicly Max out at 60% but the overall Factors are pretty much Untouched by this. Or does that mean that the Planets Pops will basicly have an negative 40% Modifier to their Happiness the entire Time ? 5. Last but not Least. There seem to be a few Primitive/other Civilizations. Are these Part of the Civilization Numbers you set to be in the Game at the Creation of the Game. (So like yeah some of them start out Spacefaring like you. Others are starting short before Space Age so they start maybe 5 years after start of the game.) Or are these actually just Extra on top of these. (So no the 32 Empires you set on are still there. But on top of these 32 there are also like 10 or so small Empires which might at some Point Join Spacefaring Empires and Pop up around you.) Greetz Gilder.

I like how they miss that if they would move the outpost of Dearum to Redamon they could claim two additional systems. Also I know they're trying to avoid spoilers and such and thus don't do a lot of projects, NPC hunting etc but it upsets me a whole lot because it feels so "off". Then again, I wish the guy with the beard would just dye the grey patch to make it look more symmetrical. Or alternatively dye a grey patch on the other side. I have no idea why but the longer I stare at it the more it upsets me. I'm now at the point where I'd forcefully shave his beard off given the chance.

As they talk more about setting up sectors it bothers me that they're mandatory. I probably don't want to micro an entire galaxy but half the fun of games like Moo and Civ were optimizing your planets/cities. Seems like sectors should be an option or even necessary at a certain point but 5 planets before penalties seems crazy low. Regardless, i still NEED this game.

Let's speak about some multiplayer features that i didn't eared about so far, would it be able to kick player(s) when the game have been launched and running already? I mean some "Kick votes" launched by the host against a troll that joined an organized multiplayer long campagne which would require like 70% or 80% of "yes" would be nice. As i experienced a lot of multiplayers games especially in EU4 (some in CK2), it would be nice to not see some awesome epic long terms campagne of stellaris getting screwed by some of non-friendly people.

+L. Lopes EU games are the same way. This game isnt about strategic combat. Besides If you think just building a bunch of ships and putting them in a doom stack=win you are sorely mistaken. Weapons/Shields/Armor they and you are using makes a big difference. A smaller fleet could wipe you out if your weapons are ineffective against their defenses
