Stellaris DLC Guide, Which to Buy | 3.7 First Contact 2023

When you buy Stellaris there should be some DLC like Utopia included. I had a deal on various species packs, Utopia and Synthetic Dawn. My policy is to wait for the bugs to be ironed out in new DLC, then buy a cycle behind when they're discounted. Personally I really enjoy playing the trade game with Megacorp and Federations becomes important for the Trade League which lets trade produce CGs and Unity, so your pops can focus on being merchants. The Ancient Relics and Apocalypse can be replaced to some extent by some mods, yet the bargain prices on the older DLC make them an easy pick up. For beginners less is more, turn all DLC off, create a galaxy without rival AI empires and just have the FE and pirates to provide suspense while pre-FTL civilisations add variety. I am less enamoured of DLC like Nemesis or Toxoids that create fairly rigid story lines. After play testing the 3.1 open beta, having my feedback incorporated I bought Nemesis for larger the Espionage options. It's simply hard to judge new features without seeing both free & DLC options. The stories in the free Horizon Dawn and the paid Distant Stars add far more to the game to me. Watching play throughs the Custodian/Emperor thing seems a cheesy way to win the game. For me the unpredictable emergent behaviour is what makes Stellaris the most fun. There's a tendency to create new OP content in DLC which becomes MP meta until everyone bans it. As I consider hosting RP games, I updated all DLC and have fun playing around with it. A recent idea is to try Incubators with Void Dwellers to favour my non-adaptive main species when spreading out through many habitats.

Recently got back into it (played before any DLC came out). This has been an excellent guide for which DLC to pick up based upon what playstyles I enjoy and might enjoy. Greatly appreciated!

why do youtubers slow their voice speed to x0.75? its annoying af.

I have a speech impairment and slow my voice to clearly speak. It’s for clarity. Idk why others do.

You can increase the playback speed of a video if it really annoys you that much. Just saying.
