You are correct, in current as well as Legends continuity Mandalorians were members of a belief system. However, in Legends there was a Mandalorian species as well. The Taung were the first Mandalorians and funnily enough even they were not native to Mandalore, but originally from Coruscant. They were forced off of that world by ancient humans approximately 200,000 BBY and arrived on a planet that they decided to name Mandalore after the leader that brought them there, Mandalore the First. By the time of the Old Republic and the Mandalorian Wars, the Taung had nearly died out with Mandalore the Ultimate rumored to be the last surviving member of the original Mandalorians but their legacy lives on in all the Mando'ade that came after them.

Wasn't it the Taung made the belief system, then died out and got replaced by the humans as the dominant members of the Creed?

The Taung did create the belief system (as is implied by them being the First Mandalorians) but as the Taung took in more and more members of other species, the percent of Taung Mandalorians became smaller and smaller. Combined with other factors, such as deaths from combat, and the Taung population just shrank. As to humans becoming the dominant members, that is debatable as most often Mandalorians are seen in full armor. They certainly were most prevalent in the New Mandalorian faction, but beyond that is left more or less ambiguous.

This reminds me of the Star Trek Horizons mod for stellaris. hands down one of the best star trek games in my opinion. the best part is how the uniforms change on the portraits as you go through the eras from enterprise through TOS up to TNG

This makes me very happy. I loved the New Horizons mod but like Shack I could never fully enjoy it because I just kept getting handed planets every 5 minutes and felt very railroaded. Mechanics wise though it was the best mod I've ever played. The updated ship designer, new resources and mechanics all combined to make an awesome experience. I've avoided this Star Wars mod because I though it would have the same issue of "starting in mid-game" but an emergent Star Wars experience set in the Old Republic sounds awesome.

@@danielguilmartin9376 More or less correct, but they are now two different modding groups. As I understand it, the New Horizons team split into ST: New Horizons and Star Trek: New Civilizations. It's the New Civilizations team that has created Star Wars: Legacy of the Old Republic.

I imagine the devs will try and add in more unique ship sets over time. I tried out the mod. I like the way they implement the Jedi Order in the game. As both a tradition and enclave.

One my my fave mods of all time for that game. My favorite part about it is that you can make your own faction and completely coustomise it like a normal campaign and it works with the mod. Really glad you made a video on this, the devs deserve a lot more coverage than they have been getting (in my opinion).

The recruitment center building converts alien species into mandalorian species. So , for example, if you have a Duro pop on a planet with a center, when it ticks over it will convert that Duro pop into a Mandalorian pop.

If you form the republic you will get access to 2 other tradition trees. One for a jedi focus and another one for the overall republic focus. The uniforms of your leaders also change if your part of the republic. Coruscant is right before becoming a metropolis, but you have to progress through the story to build the city planet. if you improve your relations with the jedi you can also build the famous jedi temple on coruscant. Usually the empire specific trees, start story quests for your empire as you progress through them.

Coruscant SHOULD already be an Ecumenopalis at this point, but...considering you only start with the one planet, if you started with one that gave you NO MINING OR FOOD PRODUCTION....you'd be kind of screwed. That's the reason I think they start it off as a Continental and let you make the city.

Technically there are Corellian ships in the mod, most of the republic ships were made/designed in the lore by Corellia Star Drive, competitor to the Corellian Engineering Corporation which is famous for its CR90 corvettes of the original trilogy like the Tantive IV.

@TheXPGamers You CAN add custom shipsets to the mod AFAIK...LotOR is one of the ONLY Total Conversions for Stellaris that I know of that has Custom Empire Support. How do I know? Having (Destiny) Eliksni, flying (StarCraft) Terran Battlecruisers, living near Hoth, is FUN!

I was thinking Galactic Battlegrounds too. He kinda gave it away by saying the game is really old, and from what I can guess there have only been 3 Star wars games that are RTS and those are Empire at War, Rebellion, and GB. I've played EAW and Rebellion and I don't recognize those buildings so it must be GB.
