I am on a different perspective. I _have_ the grind, my character is multiple years old. Problem is I just don't wanna pay sub per month, and also get sucked in too much for my own wellbeing. I get sucked in wanting to do stuff, then immediately get terrified of losing things because I don't wanna deal with buying another 'thing'. That and Loki is expensive.

Yep. I stopped years ago because I found that it was just a huge grind, but I loved playing it. Then it went Free to play and all the stuff I had spent 4 - 5 years on building up became free and easy to get and it felt like a huge kick in the ass to those that had been dedicated for years. Same, I always LOVED EVE's atmosphere, ship design and especially the music. I just never liked PVP in my games much and EVE was pure PVP whenever you undocked. This mod, and hopefully one for X4 one day will be perfect.

Once you get a handle on how to play this mod (make sure you have a strong economy, spam the crap out of hulks on the ice belts), building a capital fleet backed up with subcapitals and watching two fleets go head to head is freaking awesome. The devs did a great job in modding EvE into SoaSE. And this would be a great series.

Game has been in development by just a single guy for some time now, but most of the time you hear anyone talk about it, they refer to it as Eve Offline. Jace Masula is the name of the dev as well of the name of his youtube channel where he posts pretty regular devlogs and some background of what goes into development.

Sounds similar to the legendary match of BoB vs Star Fraction during the Alliance tournament 4. I don't recognise the sound effects (except for Aura) so I'm assuming the mod is using whatever EVE's current versions are? A shame what CCP did to the SFX all those years ago now, they used to be incredible, large lasers in particular and the beastly Tech 2 220mm Vulcans.

Sound effects were somewhat recently updated (after having recorded them all in EVE individually) I think the only exception was the Tachyon Beam Laser, the older one sounded So much better.

19:15 technically the fastest ship in the game is the leopard , which reaches upwards of 20 au/s when warping . it also accelerate to this humongous warp speed very quickly and obviously with that it also brakes like nobody's buisness 😋

Seeing the skillbooks gave me PTSD flashbacks. If I remember right, outside of the Dramiel(pirate faction frigate), the Gallente frigate(the t1 of the Taranis and Ares) is a bit faster than the Rifter. Artillery has a lot more range than Railguns. My Vargur could fire out to like 150km or something stupid like that.

A couple of comments that may shed a bit more light on the mod as somebody that made a bunch of the maps for it: there are TWO versions of the Rorqual, the first is the one you get for free at the start of the game as a basic colonizer (so the AI doesn't get stunted) and the second is a more accurate version of the ship, complete with industrial core. Factory structures are all Raitaru, Azbel, and Sotiyo class Upwell Engineering Complexes and do not change with race (same with the Astrahus, Fortizar and Keepstar citadels) You'll only need one research structure of each type to research techs. Just like in eve: Bigger isn't always better, ships use real fleet fits that have been converted into Sins stats. More expensive, supply efficient units are not always as cost effective as swarms of cheap ships. Some of the maps are based on real EVE regions, even down to the system names, which can be used to your advantage.

16:30 hello @TheXPGamers . id just like to let you kindly know that i was specced and trained as a carrier pilot in eve and in deed no , you cant control the carrier fighters in the same way that you control your ship . that is true . what is also true is that you control them directly but in a similar way that you would be controlling units in an rts game for exemple 🙂bonus info , the simple light fighters cant warp at all and act more like really big drones , so if you forgot them on a ratting site that you just finished and warped away , youre screwed , unless of course if you take a scanning ship and combat probe them then warp there and finally bookmark their location to return with your carrier to reconnect them to your ship and then call them to one of your fighter bay . but , on the other hand your heavy fighters do have warp drives but dont really have MWD (micro warp drives for the uninitiated) and if they have (cant precisely remember that little detail) it takes forever to be able to reactivate again . so a basic run of the mill technique , actually consist (when ratting with super-carriers) tho leave them there and only recall your light fighters then once the light fighters are in their respective light fighters bays , you warp to the next ratting site with your super-carrier , then once on site , you make the heavy fighters warp to you then send them fight again 😇. youre all kindly welcome for this little piece of info by the way . its my pleasure to transmit my knowledge freely at 0 cost . afterall , knowledge is power 😉
