It seems like it would be better to prolong the Vassal relationship in order to take advantage of your ridiculously cheap defense platforms to guard yourself both against your Overlord and against your neighbors before declaring independence.
@philm942 жыл бұрын
It is, by a long way. I don't know why you'd take this origin to just cheese out of it in 2 years. Being a bullwark can make you an early game powerhouse. Your starbases are insurmountable and you can rush people with destroyers whilst they have weak picket corvettes.

I did imperial fief for my most recent run. I think my biggest issue wasn't as much the overlord as much as it was being boxed in by a much larger empire who hated my guts. When my overlord collapsed, I got their vassals, and funnily enough my now former overlord actually won the rebellion! Instead of annexing all the rebels, they chose to vassalize them instead, and once I capitalized on one of the newer vassal's independence war I managed to get all but 2 of the rebel states as vassals. My relations with my former overlord was good enough to be able to vassalize them after the war, which let me get the 2nd last vassal who was loyal to them, and the last one which was independent... Wasn't, for very long

Empires can implode now? Is that a new situation, or is it just something that the Advanced AI will do if you pick the Vassal Origin?

This origin appears to have a baked-in time limit, with the Overlord breaking up after a while. What if, for reasons of your own, you want to remain a vassal? Or if you simply want to take your time rebelling? Lost potential, it seems. ='[.]'=
@Lildizzle420 Жыл бұрын
im so confused i must be really bad at this game because that's not how i play i built a fleet and fought off the empire and didn't let him bomb my home planet and then i got a vassal.
@rwp00792 жыл бұрын
So other videos I've seen of this origin seem to imply that after a set amount of time, your overlord just seems to collapse anyway. Dunno if this is set to happen after a certain amount of time or is pure RNG.

As soon as the leader dies it´s a civil war that frees you anyway. Also why would you want to be free anyway ? (at least until midgame)

@@Magmakojote I mean doomsday kinda good if you focus around leeching as much as possible from your homeworld to give you a headstart. So it may be the case here, thought you have to be subordinate quite long time.

Can you clarify, do you get sponsored by Stellaris to find such cheesy exploits or to introduce players to new mechanics? Is there even point going such build in the first place apart from getting achievement?
