Stellaris season 8 and major Paradox delays! | What happened and whats coming?

Today I post a video on journalism (I can't beleve im doing that), Stellaris is one of my favorite games so i am pleased to talk about it and share all the new stellaris news and updates on season 8 and the machine age! I will be talking about pricing, rick the cube and the other dlcs coming out in 2024 along with the recent delays with Prison architect 2 and Victoria 3 Spheres of influence

I'll say that learned from City skylines 2, Astral planes, and milania. And now they're trying to polish them and incriminating the quality of stuff. Im no game dev but making dlcs/games is hard from what I've heard from the Internet.

I'll never say they didn't put a lot of work and effort in their dlcs, astral planes writing is just amazing. I just question the direction sometimes

I give them the benefit of the doubt, I mean machine age sounds amazing, however if they had a single phrase to describe I would skip it. I hope the rest of the season 8 will match the expectations.

Life by You has also been delayed twice. Prison Architect 2 was meant to be March, then May, now June. Sphere of Influence was meant to be March, then May, now June as well. It seems that Paradox is going through some major internal issues.

Season 8 and seasons for stellaris in general sound very annoying as concept from what we have been getting from other games. Paradox clearly wants to min max their dlcs profits but in the end people will buy it either way if it's good. This is not a good look for us consumers though IMO

I've also seen with their other games (notably hoi4) they are instituted a subscription service to basically "rent" The dlcs instead of full on purchasing them. Personally I'd prefer if the started putting the dlcs in discounted bundles for new players to get into them but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@Katiozi yea true. I have actually used the hoi4 sunscription maybe 5 times because I dont own any dlcs and play it rarely.

​​@@Katiozi That's literally what they did though? they introduced this with the starter bundle and now the Season 8 bundle. I think Subscriptions are generally a good idea because it gives newcomers the chance to play the game with all dlcs without having to buy all of them especially if they aren't committed with the game yet, all of this has been a positive for newcomers, I honestly find it confusing how people find this to be "bad" and "greedy" when it's the exact opposite, and something I've noticed is that the only people that seems to complain about this things just happen to be older players which is ironic considering this isn't even targeted towards them. (also I don't mean this as a jab on you btw)

@@luzekiel9343 yes subscription has been helpful for me. I don't have money to buy all the dlcs and it's not fun to buy one or two per year and not have access to them all for a long time. Subscription is overall positive.

And whats the Problem? You still can Buy the DLCs you still get them at Discounts.... However, like other Games with a lot of DLC, for example Games like The SIMS, Total War Warhammer or other Paradox Games.... It still cost a Ton to get all the Other DLC. So what exactly is Wrong with them Providing the DLCs in basicly a really small Bundle to Rent. Espacialy to A) Player who just now Start the Game and B) Player who dont got Friends/Buddys to play with them. Because on the + Side for a Paradox MP Game only 1 Player needs to posses all the DLC and everyone Benefits from it. Which means all their 4X Games, with a lot of DLCs already got a Revenue Option Cut, which other Games like SIMS, Total War or Civilisation can exploit ^^ I mean they dont take anything away from you, they dont Force you to use these Method, and they also try to Designe (i dont say that it works good but they try) at least for Stellaris, every DLC in a Way, that the Base Game without DLCs does not get "unplayable".
