Thank you so much! I put far too much time into it, half of which was spent second guessing myself haha.

Pretty cool vid :> Alotta ur gripes with overly complex systems is apparently being tackled in the coming 4.0 update coming in may(ish), its focusing on making the game more beginner friendly by simplifying some systems and adding systems designed specifically for beginner players, as well as changing planet management, trade, war, the a.i and more! Js thought id let yu know ._.

I didn't know they were planning that. From what limited other opinions I've seen it seems like quite a few people share my sentiment for the overcomplication, and I'm glad that they're doing something about it. I can see stellaris being as popular and well regarded as Civilization 6 with just a bit more polish, and that update should bring it more towards that direction. Thank you for letting me know!

You can certainly get up to some mischievous deeds in this game, and sometimes by accident. Once upon a time, my brother and I played a casual multiplayer game together and he was in the midst of a system spanning war involving 1/4th of the galaxy. Things were going well, he was winning, clapping those alien cheeks so to speak, but something of his empires edicts went unnoticed for several years into the war. Since the beginning of the game he forgot to change the accept refugee status from founder species only to welcoming everyone! World after world burned in his wake, during the closing years of the regional wars, causing untold billions of people to leave their collapsing homes and cities in this foreign empire that was getting absolutely destroyed. Without my brother knowing, he had condemned these innocent people to running right into the arms of a fellow empire next door, a Gestalt Hive-mind empire. Well. These ravenous little monstrosities don’t take kindly to living with non-hive mind individuals, so… they ate the refugees. All 47~ or so pops displaced and countless unaccounted for people were fleeing to this seemingly open armed country just to be eaten for not being like them. All because of my brother’s actions as an egalitarian utopian society that strived to do good inadvertently dooming billions. This was truly the most Stellaris thing I had ever witnessed. The idea of what miserable life for these digital peoples had witnessed must tell a story unlike any I’ve heard before. In those years of such misery, I think my brother did accomplish one seemingly impossible feat of science, he probably managed to squeeze water from a sentient stone.

That story kind of reminds me of a reddit thread from years ago where some ones neighbor was complaining about how coyotes keep eating his outdoor cats and he would just get new ones from the shelter to replace them, and the guy responded that it sounded like he was just feeding cats to coyotes and made the dudes kid cry lmao. Sounds like your brother was just feeding the xenos with extra steps haha.

1000 hours over 5 years here! The war system is super frustrating and I still can't seem to successfully play an aggressive, wide empire that conquers all who stands in its way without getting absolutely floored by a technologically more advanced empire despite having "stronger" fleets, so I often end up just playing mildly aggressive or even passive tall empires focusing on tech and at most getting vassals passively and killing time until the end game. But I promise you there is still so much fun to be had outside of combat! these devs genuinely care about this game and honestly most reworks, expansions, and updates make the game better.

That's fair. I guess I haven't played enough with my piddly little 100 hours playtime to understand a good chunk of the mechanics. I have thought about doing a diplomacy centered civ with the goal to try and use spies to cause other nations to go to war with each other, but I don't know if that would actually work or not. Given that the mechanics of other stuff seem to be so deep and fleshed out, I wouldn't put it past the devs to have it possible. That being said I don't know if I have it in me to do another 30 hour long run for a while haha.

love stellaris, I have like 50+ unfinished runs for like 6 years of having it
@vvundo690320 күн бұрын
It's a super fun game, but it suffers from the same issues that Civ 6 has where your civ gets far too bloated in the late game. Early game in both civ 6 and Stellaris are much more fun than the late game. I can definitely see why you'd have a bunch of unfinished games haha.

Not a lot of people make stellaris videos with the energy you do. Keep it up! As someone who mains Ravenous Hives it was fun to see some of the digs against the more aggressive players. Well made video mate.

8:10 they sell their shit on the market for alloys have have at least 10 shipyards 8:17 wormholes lol

I didn't think about the AI selling and buying in order to mass produce units. But as far as the second point I actually saw their armies plop into existence in the middle of their ally, with no wormhole anywhere near them. I did see that there's a special building that can launch ships super far away but I don't know how that works. And if they had that, why not send their army into my territory?
