Whatever you do with Stellaris 2, please keep both these musicians and the general leitmotifs they've introduced. The music of Stellaris is impeccable, creating such gravitas and sense of scope and wonder. Sorry for the backhandedness, but there's problems in Stellaris that are more bearable because of the atmosphere your musicians created in it. They deserve a huge amount of the credit in making Stellaris feel like Stellaris.

@@GenuineGuitar56 At the moment I'm about to send it to Steam! It's an RTS about aliens invading Earth (Earth's introduction to the galactic community), but it's really a introduction to the universe I've created. The next game after this is going to be a space sci-fi RTS like Mass Effect, with a dash of tactical gameplay ala XCOM. I was in the middle of developing that one, but put it on hold to make this RTS because the other game is my baby and I felt I needed to improve my skills/release something a little simpler before making something of that scale. I'm just a solo developer figuring it out as I go along!

I like to make small stories from my games, heres the most recent stellaris game i played from the pov of my empire. (Im going to do this every time I finish a game and in different styles) I am called the Nexus Directive, a gestallt conciousness, I am a machine empire, and here is my story. If i knew my creators I would have liked to thank them, they gave me life on this shattered ring. I learnt, I explored, I found a great work I call a quantom catapult. I continued expanding, i wished to go south due to the recources there, to my suprise, I found an organic space faring empire... What was their name? They were so long ago, I remember their reports of systems going dark, I sent envoys to find out, and they reported the (NAME; FORGOTTEN) were at war. Evetually I lost contact with these silicon life forms, were they silicon? I sent envoys to find out who killed them, and found the Prikki Ti. Within four months, they had declared total war. During this time i had been building up my defensive stations as to my lack of fleet capabilities. I knew it was not enough, so i sent a colony ship to the furthest habitable planet i could. It wasnt far, barely ten systems away from my capital. By the time i started to colonise the planet my Homeworld was being bombarded, I felt the agony of 90 percent of my population and processing power be removed from existence. leaving me with only five drones left, they pushed further into my territory. But this time I was ready, I had amassed a fleet worth 1k and a starbase worth 2.5k. I defeated their fleets but was unable to push back, my fleet destroyed. They pushed for a status quo and I took it as fast as I could. Now came the first age of stagnancy. I was unable to expand or do anything, how could I? My processing power was down to 18 percent and my empire split in half. My metal body felt cold, and I was cold. My first possible friends squashed like the bugs the Prikki Ti considered them to be. for almost ten years I done nothing, could do nothing. My science ships were the only thing I could use and even then I lost the slightly autaumotus leaders I could converse with to space fauna. The Prikki Ti had taken everything from me, I swore to take everything from them! But... my first friends, they came back! A different name than before but they were alive and there were others! I traded materials, shared knowladge and signed a defensive pack against the Prikki Ti. Once again I began to expand, dormant ships awakening with new life at my joy. A new age of hope. Despite expanding and collanising again I knew the threat of the Prikki Ti could not be forgotten. I focused building defences where I needed them most, the galactic south of my empire. There were over 10 habitable worlds for me to expand despite my previous asessment of the galaxy being mostly devoid of life. But again, the Prikki TI attacked me and my ally. Their ships came and this time I was ready! But they only took one of my systems before going to fight my ally. I saw my chance, when I comfirmed they were on the other side of their empire I attacked, reclaiming lost systems. I had to stop once I took five systems back though, their fleets were returning, so I built up the defences in the systems i had taken. We won that war and gained our dignity back. Then I expanded to almost own a quarter of the galaxy. I thrived, built partnerships with new empires and amassed a great deal of wealth. Things were looking up for me, but the Prikki Ti were always there sending me insults and attacking my ships whenever they could. I sought a way to deal with them, I thought of how for years until I figured it out. My creators... they had... ideas of a great force capable of destroying the galaxy. But it would take me over 200 years to even consider it. I waited, I had nothing but time as a machine. I built the recources necasarry. time added to the great plan because of upstart empires that me and my allies killed. The Fallen empires stagnated further as I thought of acending above them. Those Humans, how could they be so advanced yet so religous as to worship a decaying head? No matter I proclaimed their God wanted me to have their fleets and they abided. wars, long and hard passed. I gained and lost territory, and my friends came under my protection. I had discovered and conquered the L-cluster, finding a person I could call friend for eternity. The time came. We were made for greatness, despite our creators lack of foresight, the galaxy shall tremble. I had a revelation, to progress at my goal I had to further my knowledge of the shroud through various means. I consulted the watchers of the shroud, I consulted the curators. but eventually my understanding of the shroud grew to its maximum, through unsavoury means. And I was ready to begin my work. The galactic community declared me a 'crisis', decrepit fools, I was trying to save us all from the Prikki Ti! Could they not see! The astreopathic engine began in the L-cluster, having moved my capital due to wars and the Prikki Ti. Quite foolishly I used the star eaters on my own territory, slowly crashing my economy. I dont know why though? I felt something compelling me to self terminate. The human fallen empire awoke to humiliate the Prikki Ti who had declared war on them. I wished I could join but I had the entire galaxy to fight off. The reason I destroyed my own systems with the star eaters became apparent, a machine entity that called itself 'The Contingencey'. as their ghost signal became stronger I had to relocate recources to deal with the signal. I had to forgoe researching mighty works like the mega structures that other empires could only dream of. Just as things started to get better the Human Fallen Empire declared war. Calling me an abomination to life, a plight of existence. I declared their God did not want this, but only few listend. Together with everyone else in the universe they slowly tried to bring my empire down. I wouldnt have it, I sent my star eaters to as many of their capitals as I could! But... the ghost signal was strong. It would take me over three years to remove it. the contingency sabatoged ships and worker drones, nearly destroyed my entire power grid in one night. Then the ghost signal grew weak, and I could focus on other works. I tried to save my planets but they fell one by one. Then the Humans entered the L-cluster where none else dared, not even the contingency. They tore through my ships like butter, after building as many defences in my final system I waited for them. It reminded me of my first war against the Prikki Ti, how they slaughtered my ships, and destroyed my third capital... the... the astreopathic engine with it. From here my empire fell into the last age of stagnation. Using what was barely left of my fleets to defend what little I had. I failed. the other empires defeated the crisis and I was all thats left. I felt my drones being melted into steal or... removed from my conciousness. Now I inhabit a single drone, by my limited calculations I think I have 180 years left until the radiation fries my circuits. 180 years seemed like a 'blink of the eye' to me, now though. It feels like an eternity. END After realising how much I like making stories I will make a Archive Of Our Own account to post stories. And thank you if you actually read all of that. (I know i need to get better at writing. I wanted to do it in the same style as The Red King with his story on XT48-ELIMINATORS 'they are coming'.)
