I will one day.. the challenge is that I carve about 25 bird bodies all at once, and then mount one at a time. there are a lot of videos already made and getting edited one a time for once a week uploads.. and alot more on the way. thanks for your interest.

Do you inject the feet in these smaller birds, or is leaving them in the solution enough for preserving them?

I do if it is injectable, meaning if the toes allow me and they are not too thin. But majority of small birds I don’t and they will dry without noticeable shrinkage.

I have trouble mounting the legs like putting the wire through them. How do you do it?

Super sharp and straight wires. Either go through the bottom of the feet or the heel. Keep an eye on my videos , there is a Blue Heron coming up You can see it there.

Great video...do you glue the neck to the back of the skull to hold it, or is the neck wire just pushed into the clay in the back of the skull?. Some taxidermists seem to push the wire through the roof of the skull to attach the neck to the head. what method do you prefer?

I glue everything. on this Jay I used the real skull on the bird, if you watch my other Bird videos where Im using casted skull you will notice that Im securing the neck wire in the skull.

How did you get the feathers on the head to stick up so perfectly?

Hi Vienna, there is a very thin layer of caulking under the skin that helps with that.. in my new videos I show more details. thanks for watching.

Hello! Very cool work. I have such a question, the skin of a small bird is dried, how to return it to its normal state?

you can try soaking it in cold water with some anti bacterial soap and leaving it in the fridge for a day or two or till it softens up... small birds like song birds are best to mount as soon as possible while they are still fresh.

I would assume you measure the eyes in the skull and order similar size, or do they make eyes for all birds

They pretty much make eyes for every size out there. And you just need to know what size you need. A lot of birds have the same size/colour eyes.
